I am trying to decide on which hood to run on my car. The only thing that would change in the pic (obviously other than the hood) are the side scoops, going with bullitt style. Anyways, just wanting to get some opinions.

cobra r or that one u already have looks good to but im more of an original type person but if u are dead set on changing it go with the cobra r
The stock GT hoods (w/ hood scoop) are one of the best hoods for the New Edge stangs IMO.
The only other hood I like is the 00 Cobra R hood, but it looks odd with the stock GT/V6 front bumper. You really need the 99/01 Cobra front end to compliment the 00R hood.
Maybe a 95 R cowl hood would look decent with the stock front bumper.

Keep it as-is and spend the money on go-fast parts.
Hate seeing a stang with a 4" cowl hood (or Cobra R, or Termi, or Saleen/Roush etc) getting its ass handed to it by cobalts and calibers bc it has nothing to back up its appearance.
But if you are dead set on a new hood, the Termi hood looks best but only if you get a Termi front fascia, OR a Cowl hood.

I'm partial to the '95-style Cobra R hoods 
I needed mine to clear the blower, but I've always drooled over them anyway, so it was a perfect excuse to buy one. I got mine from Cervini's, and the quality is unbelievable. It literally fit better than the factory hood.

Sounds pretty easy. Remove black plastic insert, cut hole in hood. However, I think that aerodynamic forces would rip it off like an old bandaid as soon as you hit 20mph

Pretty much what I figured.
I'm sure some folks tried to do something like that along the way and failed miserably.

That's about exactly what happens, as well as the plug wells filling up with rain water and killing your coils. I remember the threads that used to crop up about making the stock scoop functional. Some people would remove the honeycomb, others would drill the holes out, then cut a giant hole under the scoop. One guy lost his on the freeway, and another guy smoked all of his COPs. My recommendation would be a shaker hood with that little shaker lift kit thing, or a 95 Cobra R hood.

The '95 Cobra R hood would be win on your car. I'll be running a '99 Cobra hood on my car but I'm going for a bit of a subdued look, since I plan on going turbo and I don't want rice to know what hit them. 
+1, I've never liked cowl hoods either. Making the GT scoop functional is not a great idea, because it will just be an opportunity for dust/water to enter your engine bay and offers absolutely no benefit to you other than the satisfaction of knowing it isn't fake. The air intake on our cars draws air from the fenderwell, so making the hood scoop functional won't increase performance at all.
IMOP, the fake hood scoop looks great on the new edge. I personally wouldn't change a thing about the hood on your car. It looks awesome man.
