Which Line Lock Kit is the best for an 03-04?

Most I have spoken with and that had done it themselves, swear by the SLP kit. The Hurst seems to work fine as well, but it might not be the best fit for an 03-04, any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated I have to order one and slap it on, getting sick of the hit or miss burnouts, hopping pedals.

You know, after assuming that and going into it expecting to order an SLP kit today, I have had my mind changed. The SLP is a "complete" kit, but there are two major drawbacks that have been brought to my attention by most notably POSTBAN, who has installed both.

1. ) The SLP kit, if installed as instructed, is not NHRA legal ( boy this was news to me!), since it's placed before the proportioning valve!?!

2. ) The SLP kit is installed completely underneath the master cylinder and in many cases, it is easier to remove the master cylnder to get'r'done?? It is a real PIA.

The Hurst is about the same price, you order the unit plus a mustang fittings package and possibly a 12" piece of brake line is required and you have to bend the lines, not a problem, I have a bender and all the flaring tools. The Hurst can use the existing bracket and mount on the side, making it accessible from above. using this Joe Lynch Method you are NHRA legal. I also found a very neat switch box that allows you to wire up your lock release to your cruise control switch, I love that stealth and having the release controlled by my left hand, with it ON the wheel is the best possible setup, leaving my right hand on the shifter for that first shift to second that comes FAST! That sounds like the setup, so I think I am going to avoid the SLP, on the advice of POSTBAN.

The instructions provided by Joe on his website for the installation of the Hurst roll control have been used by many and work well.

sometimes you just need to dig into it a little. Lou at Laurel MT Mustang sold me the hurst kit for $104, that is a great price and also talked me out of the piggy back fitting kit, I will cut the stock line and bubble flair the OEM fitting onto my two new pieces of line, no fuss but you will need a bubble flair tool ( and tubing bender), which I already have. I'll take some pictures, thanks for the come back UM, much appreciated!!

P.S. when are you getting that new pulley, time for some 11's for you!
