Tryinng to decide what fluid to put in the transmission( Royal purple? Redline?). Having similiar problems with shifts from first to second in cold weather as a lot of others. Oh, and do I have a transmission filter?

In my T-45 switching from synthetic to type F cured most of my grinding problem, well up until I broke a fork being a dumbass. Bear with me I cant get the words right. Type F isnt as slick as dextron or a synthetic and it seems to help the friction material in the syncros gab a little bit better.
my buddy just put something different in his '03 manual, but I forgot what it was called. He said it cleared up what little shifting problems he was having. I'll try and talk to him tonight and find out what it was.
I read that Tremec recommends against synthetic transmission fluids. They said something about the synchronizers being made out of brass and the only thing that will correctly keep them lubricated is mineral based ATF; no synthetic stuff. And keep the fluid level right around 3.2 quarts. I would listen to them and use Castrol Mercon III ATF from wal-mart and call it a day.
AMZOIL Synthetic ATF works for me in everything I own.........Pretty much anything except Syncromesh.........Anything GM related will cause your stang to go on strike........
