Which pulley kit did u install on ur 94/95 5.0? BBK or March?

I don't have any cooling problems after running the U/D pulley kit.

I do notice a drop in voltage if I'm idling at night (the headlights are on). I have run the car with the headlights on, AC on, CD player on, at a stoplight and I noticed the volt gauge too a little while to get back to where it usually is, but it was fine.

BBK steel. The alternator pulley didnt fit though, but I think its because I dont have the stock alternator. No matter cuz Im getting it machined for free and besides I would hold a better charge with the smaller pulley I have.

I'm running some ASP pullies from Summit. They're black anodized aluminum and go for ~$94.

I was lookin at Autospecialtie's website & could only see "steel" pulley kits for our '94/'95's. They come in 3 different finishes-nitride, zinc, or black anodized, it says. I thought they made aluminum kits for our cars? Is the website information wrong? I'd like to get an aluminum hardcoated kit.

Oh, heh, that's just a typo that's a carryover from the ASP website. It's correct in the column listing, but incorrect when you click on the link for them. Part of the givaway is that you can't anodize steel. Black oxide, yes, anodize, no.

They are most definitely black anodized aluminum. I bought mine through Summit. Please trust me on this, I am a Mechanical Engineer and a machinist, so I know metals.

Just called the ASP techline. Part#ASP825928 is an aluminum kit (website info is wrong) & they do have em in black, blue, red, or clear hard coat. Retains the stock belt on '94/'95 GT's Just ordered mine thru Summit. ASP will drop ship em to me since I wanted the clear hard coat aluminum finish. $110.95 shipped

Got my ASP's today I guess clear hard coated aluminum is different from the polished/clear coated March pullies I've had in the past. Although not as shiny as the March kit, I wonder if it's a more durable finish

The dullness is caused by the hardcoat anodize. Standard anodizing of a polished aluminum will still be pretty shiny. The hardcoat is essentially a thicker layer of aluminum oxide that is grown on the surface, which will be less shiny, but more protective.

asp pulleys are awesome! ive also heard/read a couple places that they are the best with keeping a charge if you use the alt. pulley. like it was said before, charge will go down a little at night with everything on but it doesnt really effect anything.

Thanks illwood, good to know since I really was expecting a glossy/polished finish. Overall they still look really nice tho! Another Q... I haven't installed on a SN95 yet, how different is it from the Foxes? Removing the belt/tension on the Fox is a breeze

There is less room on the SN95 to get to the belt tensioner, especially because it is located on the passenger side down a bit behind the radiator. It's not too bad, but it takes doing it once or twice to get the hang of it.
