I have a 1990 Notchback and want to know what seats fit my car. I have the velour seats and want to swap them out for the cloth seats with the adjustable leg bolster or maybe a new seat from an SN95?

Question I have is if this is a direct bolt in or do I have to do any mods. Also, if the SN95 seats do bolt directly in, are they more comfortable than the fox seats and how's the driving position?

Thanks!

SN95 seats should be a direct swap into a Fox. I do recall reading somewhere that they sit higher though, so hopefully someone can confirm or deny this.

Mid to late 80s Escort GT,84-88 Thunderbird and Cougar. The Turbo-Coupes and XR-7's had great seats that you're looking for.I got a nice set with the halo headrests from an Escort.

All later seats up through 2004 will bolt right in. The 99 and up seats require the wiring harness to be modified for the power functions to work. Yes, they do sit higher.

I had 2000 GT seats in my old coupe. They were very nice and did sit a little higher but not too high. I am 6' 2" and 230 lbs and they were just fine. They are A LOT more comfortable than the fox seats and cheaper than buying a decent aftermarket seat and trying to adapt them to bolt in, all with the added quality of a factory seat and bracket that was made for the car.

unless el cheapo is the point, aftermarket seats are easy to put in just use some flat steel and a drill one set of holes for the seat and one for the rails reinstall and enjoy, i have tenzo r seats, a ricer compsny for sure, but for 450 bucks they are very nice

Not really going el cheapo but more OEM I guess. I have other plans for the car in terms of power and would like to keep the stealthy stock look.

These are out of a 2003 GT. I did not do the swap however, so I cant comment much on the install. I CAN say that the metal seat brackets are new and shiny, and I was thinking they must the ones from the 2003.
they sit up higher but I love it. Waaaaaaaay better IMO

Not to put a damper on the spirit of things but it usually takes more than just a peice of flat steel to bolt in a set of aftermarket seats. Even then getting them to fit right and have the proper angle and such makes it more challenging. I'm sure there are others that have tried including myself that can attest to that.

I would rather have factory Ford engineered seat brackets and seats than cheap aftermarket seats with Home Depot special brackets.

BTW I only paid $450 for the front and rear factory leather seats for my coupe with power seat brackets included.

Thanks. You will be happy if you decide to do the swap.

Good Luck.

04 Cobra seats fit in my 93 GT. They sat higher than the stock 93 seats so I ended up removing them.

Tunedin, the drivers side cloth seat is what I'm looking for. Sorta hard to find those in my area, most of the people want to get rid of the velour seats and not the cloth ones like yours.
