football is tough on the body but so is hockey. for endurance hockey beats football, after 45 seconds of skating hard you are dead tired. as for skill overall i think it takes more skill to play hockey, how many of you have actually stood on skates and tried to stick handle without looking at the puck (keep you head up is all i remember coach's yelling lol) where as most people can have a foot ball thrown at them and be able to catch it (not from a pro but just the average person) and run with it. obviously its more complicated than that but but if you've played neither sport football would be easier to play

here is another point on the getting hurt aspect though. in hockey we were skates that have padding, shinpads, pants that have lots of pads, chestgard, elbowpads, and gloves to protect you in foot ball, small lil pads for yous legs, and a chest pad. not very much... but the padding does help in some cases, like have taken a slapshot to the shin and had a very nice bone bruise. also taken a slap shot from the same guy that broke the toe cap of my skate, which is a thick plastic. and he also broke the blade holder on my skate once.. to say the least his shots were hard...

I say football. You play the whole game, even though you have a little breather between plays its not like having a line change. Overall the guys in football are bigger. Even though hockey is played on ice its still indoors where its fairly warm. With football playing in Foxboro or Lambo field in decemmber can be brutal.

I picked Ice Hockey because I can't skate well enough and I have never played Ice Hockey. I used to play football so for me it would be easy to play football again so I think it depends who you are asking. For a pro football player, Ice hockey is harder and for a pro Ice Hockey player football is harder.

don't you have a whole new line come out for offence and defence? going full out for a 60 second shift seems easy till you have to do it. they only guys that log alot of ice time are defencemen because, for the most part, they hover around the blue line when they are on offence and can catch a bit of a breather

Yes, the Offense and Defense are played by different players. As is usually the special teams units. One of the real hard parts of fottball is all 11 players being on the same page at the same time. That goes for both sides of the ball. However, people just playing football in the park usually don't worry about calling plays like you would in an orginized game where everybody has an actual assignment.
