Hey Guys, I need all the opinions on this that I can get. At the moment I am stang less, and am torn between these stangs, 93 5.0 notchback black, 92 5.0 triple black vert, or an 03 KB cobra. Which ever one it is I will be dumping a lot money into. What I need from you guys is your thoughts, opinions, and remarks. I like them all and dont know which way to go.

It means he agrees with the post above his. If money is no object, too.

What is the condition of the black coupe? If it's clean and you like 5.0s better, I might go with that. If you are taking everything apart to replace, why spend more on the car?

The cobra is mean but its not the best looking, you can make any of them as fast as you want, looks count. If that was the case I would just go with 02 saleen. Theirs something about 5.0s that atracts me, and its seems to me that they are becoming harder to find. I'm stuck.

lets look at this objectively.

first drop the vert. now coupes to me are the pinnacle of mustangs, but that doesnt make it the right choice. with the coupe you get a weak 5.0 block. with the kb cobra you get a stronger block with good internals. that alone makes it the better platform to me. buy the cobra......

The notch is black on black 5pd. If I go with the notch I will do 351W bored and supercharged.

You need to decide on a price range.
Youre choosing between cars that should be around $5k ('92 and '93) and one that should be around $25k (Cobra).

You can make either of the fox bodies faster than the Cobra without spending as much money as the initial purchase price as the Cobra.

get what u are leaning more towards. the cobra will always be faster than hell. but it going to cost you alot more to buy JUST the car.

with the fox. it will be CHEAP to buy and CHEAP to modify, like stated before. with way less than half the money u would spend just buying the cobra. you could have a fox that would look great, and smoke a cobra all day. plus its something you can put character into and make it what u want to be.

if it were me i'd rather get the fox, seeing as i wouldnt have over 20k to fork out for a cobra, i like paying up front with NO LOANS and making no payments. plus i'd rather be seen in something that i did myself. have people say "wow that guy made that car fast" rather than people say "eww he just bought that cobra which is fast to start with" and i wouldnt really care what people say about my cars. thats just an example. but i sure as hell would be alot more happy being throw in the seat in something i poured my own sweat and blood into, a car i know up and down like the back of my hand. with the cobra. sure its faster than a mother but they are always fast like i said.

just IMO and i am not bashing the 03-04 cobra at all, they are badass.

cobra's are cool, fast, have super strong engines right from the factory, but they cost alot more to buy outright, and mod. Not only that, but the cobra motor's aren't as friendly to the shade tree mech forcing you to spend more money on labor if your not not used to working on cars. The nothches are getting harder to find, but if you plan on going to the track alot I would stay form the vert. 5.0's are easy to work on and parts are cheap.

Get the Cobra. Balls to the wall fast, holding it's value (resale will be a key factor to consider), much more reliable, and just as easy to make faster/modify/make unique.

I have a coupe, and I love it. It's my baby. If I had the option to sell my car and get a Terminator, I don't know what I would do. Yet, if I had the option between a coupe I had no relationship to, and an 03 KB Cobra, that Cobra would be mine in a heart beat.

I've always been partial to notchbacks and with a blown 351w... sweetness!!! Whichever way you go would you mind posting a buildup thread if you're doing the work? I can never get enough of those

I am partial to 5.0 notches so my opinion is colored but it all comes down to what you want.

Like you said the cobra is mean but you aren't that big on its looks and there is something about a notch. To me it sounds like you would prefer the notch so get the body you want and then build it up.

I am on with the notch too.. Depend if you have cash.. Or you have to finaince your fun, But if you have the cash to buy a 03 cobra just laying around, I would do a notch up real nice, I have always dreamed of a clean black notch on 18 inch rims, dart block 347 with a nasty single turbo... 670 rwhp... yea trappin 138 mph... I bet that would get more looks, women, and dirty boxers than a 670 rwhp KB cobra.... not to mention its always nice to get out of a 1 off peice you pretty much desinged yourself, and know there is not going to be another one like it at the track or cruise in
