I've had my King Cobra clutch in for probably around 10k miles. The throw out bearing is going out I think, there's a ton of chattering and rattling. It seems like people went back with the stock tob but I couldn't find any threads with results. I also found a couple instances of people goin through tobs on the KC clutches.

Is it a problem with the clutch package itself, or is it something to do with a bad settings on preload? Or is it also caused if you're constantly driving around with your foot on top of the clutch?

not sure about kc clutch...but its never good to drive around with your foot on the clutch. That can cause slipping of the disc and i'm sure it's not good for the tob either. Come on man you should have learned that in drivers ed.:nono:

oh and i' would think that the kc clutch would come with a OEM tob since thats a ford kit....not sure tho. I cant imagine it being any worse than the stock one if nothing else. TOB's will go out...I dunno if any brand is better than any other but in my experience there all pretty much the same.

I probably drove around with my foot on the clutch pedal when I first got it, but I got rid of that habit as soon as I was comfortable driving stick. I guess I'll just get a factory TOB.

In my opinion and from my experience I used to have a TOB made by SPEC that was plastic. It worked really good and I didn't hear a peep out of it. A bit later I had to drop the tranny again from clutch problems and I still wasn't sure if I wanted to use a plastic TOB so I used a brand new stock one. I did all the steps installing it right and it squeaks, unless I tighten the cable. Had it on the car for about over a year now. When I do a new clutch setup down the road i'm going to use a new SPEC or Centerforce TOB. I know it sounds bad me saying that about Ford's TOB but I hear some people have the same prblem I do, and I hear that some people don't. I have read somewhere that when Valeo started making their TOBs is when the problem started, it was awhile ago when I read this so I can't recall too well.
