You have a 01 Cobra and it came with a T-3650? I thought they came with T-5's. Anyways, just put in a T-56 and be done with it.

4.30s+6speed would make your car scream.

If money is not an object, the 6 speed is the way to go but like mentioned a rear gear change would make it a better swap (due to the tall 1st gear in the 6 speeds).

The TKO's are not having the 1-2 grind problems and would make that upgrade less money than the Dealer wants to do the TSB on your transmission.

it would, but this is his daily driver, i don't think he needs that kind of gear ratio. 3.73's or 4.10's should do him fine w/ a TKO tranny. I'm not sure how much he would like that 6 speed here in San Antonio. Maybe i can get my bro to let him drive his 6 speed Trans Am. It'll give him a feel of the 6th gear - see if he likes a 6 speed or not. Obviously - my vote is for the TKO 5spd.

They make a tko that has a 10 spline input shaft that will bold right up to the bell housing you have to buy no matter what (160) and if you but the normal TKO they have a 26 spline input shaft, (you would need a new clutch disk) (150) and a 31 spline yoke (40) along with the trans (1600).

= no more problems.

obviously you have no idea what you are talking about involving a higher gear ratio in the back and a 6 speed. A cobra needs 4.30s to really wake the car up like they should be. With the 6th gear ratio of less than .66, like most 5th gears, he should still see great gas mileage and still be able to cruise at less than 3k or even 2.5k on the high way depending on how much of a hurry he is in.

with the tko and 3.90+ gears, he will be at 2.5k on the highway without a doubt.
