I want to use the D-1 from my 85 for my 95, but Im getting conflicting reports of how it mounts. I know I need new brackets but I need to know 2 things. Does it mount on the pass. or driver side, and does it mount forward or reverse rotation? Thanks, and pics would help too if you got em.

Like this........Same as your '85

The D1 itself is not the problem.

Ignition timing, octane ratings, fuel pressure, boost, compression, cam timing, quench, piston ring gap, and TUNE (and a few other things :D) all affect whether the blower will be the piston killer, not the blower itself.

No, I'm pretty sure its the D-1 because the blower currently makes 14 lbs and its lowest efficient setting is 10 and thats really too much for a stock 302 with hyper pistons. Thanks for the advice Joe but your preaching to the quire. The car I just pulled the blower off of made 516 to the wheels. I dont think I'm going to reuse this setup because its not SC and I dont like where it mounts to. I think I'm going to throw my 342 long block in my 95 and just run a 8 lb. SC unit so its an easier, cleaner install and I dont have to route an intercooler or anything.
