OR

Option 2:

that is a given, who would want a little 4cyl turbo, when you could have a screaming v8 with a turbo a six speed and t-tops? hmmm lol twin turbo all the way baby!

Depends on if you are straight or gay.

Straight guy will take the mustang,
gay guy with take the elise. It's such a femine car.

If you have lotus elise type of money to spend, there is much better/cooler cars you can buy. such as last years z06, and supercharged cobras.

Technically the Elise is a car that is known for good handling in the corners, I think that it's mostly in part to is size and weak motor. I'l take the Stang with all of the upgrade goodies any day.

This should come down to the wire. The Elise actually looks like a fun car to drive but there's no way I'd choose it over a Mustang with that kind of setup.

Well, They would be about equally as quick. The elise has a removable top as opposed to the t-top, and outhandle it.

In the end the mustang is just another mustang on the road (and 20 years old at that).

As for better cars out there for 35grand what is there. An old vette, new G35/350Z used M3... I think the elise looks a lot better than any of those and would be a lot faster and more fun to drive.

Gay to drive an elise? You can pick up a lot more girls in an elise than a mustang

The car just lacks style, looks like a kit car. $35k for a car that is one year old that cost $55k new should tell you enough. $20,000 loss in one year?

My buddy's stock z06 ran a 12.2 without touching it, not even tires.

I'd look to other used cars.
Such as:
CTS-V
04 cobra vert

I'll agree with you on one thing, the nissans, g35's and m3 i wouldn't even consider. Although a g35 coupe looks good, it totally lacks power and potential.

It's not only about the numbers, having a balance of power and style is important. I bet when you get out of your mustang and you look back at it, you say to yourself "yup, that's mine",
think you'll do the same after you get out of that go cart?

Not trying to give you a hard time, i just don't picture a man getting out of that car, i picture his wife getting out of it. And if you bagged her with a fancy car, you've got much more to worry about for the rest of your life.

BTW, i don't drive a mustang to pick up chicks, i drive it because it's loud obnoxious, and suits my personality.

I agree with looking at other options. Out of curiousity 89Notch, why these two cars? They are so completely different.

First of all it isn't 55k new you can get them for low 40's.

Why an elise? I just like having stuff that nobody else has. I have only seen one driven in my life. It is fast, it is a great handling car and can be turbod with very little effort.

A cobra vert is a dime a dozen and my mom used to have a cadillac and it was a piece of junk. Car would break down all the time for no reason even while driving in the center lane of the freeway it would completely shut down.

For the price I don't think you can beat the car.

edit: and I already have 1 loud obnoxious car, now i need a flashy one

Here is the thing, the Elise might outhandle the mustang, but even then would it be as fun getting crazy in it? Besides that, the mustang has it beat in every aspect. Also, to have something different... I don't know it the Elise has that one, because anyone could go out an buy the Elise, just like yours. Of course someone could go to a shop and have a mustang built like your, but it still wouldn't be quite he same, and they would pay ALOT more money.
