Just wondering what your opinions are on this one......I have a situation where I may have to give up one my Stangs, the first is an original paint 1989 Notch 5.0, 5-speed with some bolt ons, Cabernet red, and all of the original paperwork, 76k miles.. The second one is 1989 GT convertible, 5-speed, all white exterior with red interior All stock 100% and only 11k miles, I 'd like to keep them both but it's getting a little unnecessary to keep both now, and would like to keep the one that would be worth the most down the road in the years ahead. what do you guys think?

if 11k original miles, definitley keep the vert. Low mileage, especially stock ones are getting harder and harder to find. As nice as notches are, there are far more of those available then low mileage cars.

Hi I am in Massachusetts also. I was leaning towards the Convertible, but alot of people I talk to say the unmolested Notches are harder to find than any other, plus I have allof the paperwork on it, like the window sticker etc. and not for the Convert, but the convert is very nice.

keep the vert and keep it bone stock, and low mileage and that bad boy will fetch a damn pretty penny in the not so distant future, plus nothings better than a fox vert... except a working one

I agree notches are cool. But trying to find a low mileage fox mustang is getting harder and harder. Whereas i've seen quite a few notches with mileage right around yours sell for around 7,000, give or take.

Plus, you sound like whichever car your gonna keep is gonna stay in the family as an investment. If thats the name of the game, then IMO a low mileage, all original car is gonna fetch more in a few years than a notch with that many miles.

I'm a notchback advocate...through and through. However if the name of your game is to sell it when they become of more value, then I feel the vert may take in more. If the notch had similar mileage and characteristics, it would be the notch hands down. Being that its not, and you hope to fetch some cash in the future...vert?

I'm a little bias here as I own a notch. Personally I think mint LX bodies, especially notches, will always fetch more than GT's, but that's my opinion, and it's based on the trend I've seen in my neck of the woods. A reverse in trend isn't likely as those GT skirts were never cool, again IMO, nor those cheese grater lights, nor the porno red interior. White isn't a colour that attracts big $$$ either. Also, I don't base decisions, when it comes to cars, solely on monetary value. Ask yourself, what's more badass? A clean notch, or a white on red GT? IMO, get some good money for the GT and keep the notch.

Can't put it any better than that.
