Whining Sound Like a SC... But I Don't have One...

do you have an aftermarket stereo with amp?

Mine used to whine also until i rerouted the rca cables away from the power cables(opposite sides of the car). If you dont have a stereo i have no clue.

THATS what the noise i hear is. It wont hurt anything will it? IT only does it when i have the a/c on and the sterio on at the same time but i know from talking to others that the high pitch sound comes from high output aftermarket sterio which i have all JL audio amps/subs.

I would absolutely shoot myself if i had to run the rca's on the other side of the car to prevent problems from my alternator. You know whats funny the dealer replaced my a/c compressor thinking that was the noise and later i found out it was my sterio i had installed lmao.

Unless your state has a Used Car Lemon Law, then that is not a viable solution. Lemon Law affects NEW car sales and only those that a warranteed part has been replaced more than 2-3 times AND if it the car is deemed dangerous to operate.. or something like that..

Wrong. You will want to check Magnuson & Moss act. Lemon law CAN cover used cars. It's just not called lemon law. Ask me how I know *points to Cougar*

i'm gonna guess it's the belt. try some WD40 on the outside of the belt and see if the sound goes away. it worked for me, and i don't have a gatorback belt.

Have you tried to isolate where the "whine" is coming from? There's this girl who has a GT clone vert in my neighborhood back home and taht damn car whines crazy loud everytime she drives by the house, so it's either a S/C'd V6 (highly unlikely) or has a similar problem.

I've never had any first hand experience, but if it's coming from the rear of the car, maybe it could be the rear end, sometimes they tend to whine on other cars...

If it isn't the alternator and no stereo...no blower...I'm otherwise stumped

It's not the tranny cuz it does it in neutral... I check the alternator, belt, pulleys, etc. and had no luck. It is definitly coming from the engine somewhere....
