Whining / Squeeking from the alternator

For the past week I've been getting a whining / squeeking from the alternator. The alternator seems to be working fine as the battery stays charged and everything seems to be working fine.

Is this something to be concerned about? Is this indicating a failure soon, or is it just noisy since it's getting old?

make sure it's not the belt slipping. if the belt is not slipping then the Alt bearings are probably going out.
