ok i have an 04 gt 5spd.. i have this strange noise its not loud but i hear it. if u know your car u can pin point a noise that wasnt there before. to me it sounds like a whistle but a buddy of mine explained it as a brake squeal. but its not the brakes i had a mech grease the brakes to see if it was the brakes and that didnt work.. i hear it usualy down a side street or main road when it echos off other ****.. as far as i can tell when i press the clutch in while keeping it at a steady rpm it goes away.. wtf can this be.. i only hear it while driving not in neutral... is it just a noise coming from the tranny maybe the rear?? i did get 4.10s but that was 2 years ago. i dont know its annoying though. i know i could just put the radio on but i know its there... any opinions would help/ its not loud i do have to i guess point it out. i dont know if u ccan evan hear it while im driving by, BUT I HEAR IT!! **** ITS ANNOYING. cars only got 25000 miles on it. could it be the rear a few mechanics at my job said it might be a chipped tooth in the ring and pinion....

i have the whistle coming from the throttlebody that i know. i love the accufab throttle body. its not that its coming from under the car.. some people think its the drive shaft or maybe the rear... idk why it would be doing it. its not a loud noise u can only really hear it on side streets the most.. main road very very tuff to hear... its driving me nuts though

go to one of those drive in do it yourself carwashes with brick walls....

If the noise is there at ilde and not rolling it could be your TOB in early stages of giving up.

If the noise can't be replicated in that situation it's something on the drive train and could be your input shaft, rear end, or low fluid in the tranny...

If it might be the tranny, take a sheet of paper with you (thick printer paper wokes best) hold it on the top of your shift knob while driving (it works like a stehiscope) and you'll hear all the gear noise, if the howl is coming from the tranny you should be able to hear it over the normal gear noise which will sound like a dull grinding noise through the paper.

Long shot.. check to see that the 2 pedestals on your intake tube arent squeeking on the frame of the car. (right next to the fender opening). Mine constantly does that, and i have to adjust it.
