Who Else Still Has Their Original Avatar?

I seem to recall trying to use that one of a woman's hand on a computer mouse and it getting taken down or I may have even got a warning for it, even though it's JUST a woman's hand on a computer mouse lol. I'm not even gonna post it for fear of "those" people getting angered again

I think mine is still the same.

Edit - yep same one I remember although the fitment definitely fit within the boundary's that last time I seen it. Also I thought I had been registered here for a long time but I see there are quite a few REALLY old members still here.

If you PM me the original image, I should be able to fix it so that it fits within the frame.

Anyone remember what their first post was? I don't. I registered on here about 2 years earlier than my current register date, asking a question about a 351 in a Fox, and I don't remember who but there were a few people who were complete dicks about it. I didn't come back until I got my coupe.

Those are the kinds of things I try to avoid on the forums, today. People - Feel free to hit the report button when you see this happening.

I don't even go over to 5.0 Talk much anymore, not because of this but because I spend most of my forum time on other non car related forums, and most of the guys I care to talk with are here in the Squeaky, but the times I've been over there it has seemed much more civil than in the past. There's been a lot of bad eggs come and go.

One of the forums I'm a regular on is the Spydero forum, and I tell ya that forum is the most civil, well mannered place on the internet I've ever seen, and it really doesn't get policed until it's necessary. I don't know what's different about it vs. other forums, probably the complete lack of competition from member to member. Everyone is super polite and extremely helpful, every post gets tons of replies, and the coolest part is every new member is greeted by Sal Glesser himself (owner/founder of Spyderco). If you're at all into knives, I highly recommend it, you'll learn a lot about knives/steel/sharpening/etc.

I'll have to take a look. My knife of preference is Benchmade. That doesn't mean though, that there's nothing for me to learn over there.

Sitting back and allowing the forum to just "run" is MRaburn's preferred method me thinks. There's a lot less "moderating" here than used to be. I think we primarily keep an eye on things that are either against the TOS; sales, spam, incoherent posts, things that will degrade quickly and turn out poorly.

I try and stay on top of the classifieds section and ensure that the minimum required info is in there. It keeps scammers away and classifieds ads fresh. No one-line ads like, "302 for sale" with no info. I think that is working because our classifieds section is growing and growing.

MRaburn greeting every new member is not practical here. There's just WAY too much volume on this forum for new comers. That would be a full time job. All of the staff try and greet but madspeed monitors the majority of that. The Welcome Wagon is his forum to keep tabs on (we made it that way because he was already doing it even before he came on staff).

Besides that, what would us lesser peons do here :p
