who has broke a T5 input shaft and fixed it themselves?

That's the counter gear that usually gets busted up along with the input shaft. With those two gone, you are looking at buying pretty much a new gear set along with new bearings. Prob a $300-400 in parts repair. Replacing the counter gear is tearing down the entire trans basically.

You can prob find some good used parts for cheap, but a busted input shaft usually means a major rebuild on a t5 if the counter gear goes alone with it (which it usually does)

Btw...I usually get these sort of blown trans for 0-$50 bucks. Any more and it's not worth it to me. Vie actually gotten plenty of blown t5s for free.

Bell housing is prob $50 or so. $100 for a blown trans with possibly a blown counter gear is too much.
