Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

Gcomfx, I don't want to get off topic but the answer is yes.

The Summit radiator projects toward the engine and not into the space for the condenser. I have the original rubber mounting tabs (w/o the metal bracket) in place for the condenser. I screwed them into the frame with sheetmetal screws and they provide me with additional support for the lower part of the radiator. There is still quite a bit of room left under the bumper support and the bottom of the bumper cover for lines and a catch can.

What did you use to bend the aluminum stock? Those are nice and straight bends.

Same thing I did, except I went across the top of the radiator, and used stock mounting holes.

And that coolant line... where and how?

How much room does everyone else have in there between the motor and fan?

Hey Nagash I'm right down the road from you in Oviedo. As far as the bends are concerned I used a vise and my hands (actually a 2x4 block to put equal pressure on the part that I was bending) to make the 90 degree bends. Aluminum is very easy to work with. Which coolant line are you speaking of?

Yep... that one!!!! Nice setup there BTW. Mine looks like poo with a cutup upper hose. Did you cut your alternator / smog bracket? I just got done yanking the smog lines from the pass. side and ran a short belt.

A vise on it eh? I'll have to redo mine... didnt have a vice when I had to replace it. Almost looks like you used a brake on it.

Where at in Oviedo? I used to go out there alot to one of my friends shops... autotuner, which is now closed... lead mechanic left and opened his own shop in Winter Springs / Longwood, right off 17/92.

I cut the alternator bracket and had it powdercoated. The belt length for my set up is 92.3 inches but I am running a 351 block so that length won't work for a 302.

I'm out on the east side of Oviedo off 419.

got the radiator in yesterday, and fitted it up for welding some brackets on today. Will be done by tuesday, hopefully monday.

I was planning on doing a write up if anyone thinks it is worthwhile, should save someone else some cash if they would rather go this route.

One thing i am having trouble with is finding somewhere to put a catch can, or a place to put the stock one. For those of you who have coverted your winshield reservoir tank to a coolant overflow please help me out here with a little explanation of how.

thanks guys, you have all been great in helping me make my decision etc. so far :nice:
