I am looking at buying a 2010 GT and financing the FRPP 550hp whipple kit with the car instead of getting a 2011 GT. Who here has experience with the stock FRPP kit? I am curious as to how the car runs with the canned tune from FRPP/Whipple instead of a tune from someone else or a dyno tune. I am not looking for the most power. I am looking for a good reliable and safe tune. I will be daily driving the car, but will also beat on it pretty hard. I am assuming the canned tune is pretty conservative/safe. Who knows anything about these kits?

I work at a Ford dealership and one of our customers recently bought a new 2010 Mustang GT (manual transmission) and had us install the FR3 Handling Package and the FRPP 550hp Whipple blower. After install, it went to the best dyno shop in the Seattle area to see how the FRPP supplied tune works. No other mods of any kind and it put down over 510 rwhp on a Mustang Dyno. Some custom tuning could probably net a few dozen more ponies, but our customer wants to run the FRPP tune for now as it's safe and reliable and this is a daily driver.

The canned tune is great, perfect A/F line and plenty of HP and torque. I have a couple of customer with 15 & 20,000 miles and still running perfect. Don't be fooled though if you are a harsh driver you will burn the clutch and eventually grenade the motor. This is a great kit for daily use and a decent amount of "enthusiastic" driving.
