Who here traps at over 106mph?

Nice times dude. You have 4.30 gears, right? I can't wait to do my 4.30's and 31 spline stuff.

All 3 of my combo's trapped over 106. This one traps 115 crossing the traps WAY too low of an rpm dude to my 3.73 gears killing me. Should be doing around 120 mph once I do the gears and learn to drive it again.

Just out of curiosity ..... what gears are you going with next for your combo?

4.30's.

They will allow me to use the last 1000 rpm's worth of powerband the 373's aren't letting me use at the track. My mph should jump up nicely from the 115 it did on my baseline pass assuming I can drive. I'm doing some suspension work too.

I hate when people say they can get to a certain time easily if they only........ if it was so easy, you would have hit that time already!

I could only muster a 10.01 trapping at 136 mph. Kept thinking 9's would be easy....however, no such luck. 6 trannies later the goal remained elusive.

Closing weekend at the track had the car trapping at 143, but it was so cold out I couldn't keep the tires locked in (ET Streets) and ran back-to-back 10.12's before giving up. For me, I am convinced that great time is won or lost in the first 60 ft. My goal this year is to try and get the car's 60 foots consistently in the 1.4x range. Best one last year was a 1.54 and that resulted in the 10.01.

I have a new set of M/T Drag Radials I'm going to try this year....I'll let you know how they compare to ET Streets.

The Air pressure in those tires is a little against the common thought process...more air in those ET Street radials equals better hooking...its wierd...at 12 psi my tires wouldnt hook better than mid 1.6X 60".

Up to 18 psi, 1.56 60'. I am gonna try a little more air next time

It's funny you should say that...I ran that 1.54 the first night out of the shop and I was so blown away with what a beast the car was (not to mention it was a 2 year project), I forgot to let any air out of the Streets...they were running at around 30#'s of pressure!!

everyone I know with them get great 60's in the upper teens for tire pressure. i havent gotten more than 10passes on my non dr 17" et streets yet, so I am unsure what will work the best on them

I am going through updating my mustangmods photos and I came across a few of my time slips from when I was trapping at and around 106mph. All these runs were on 245-50-16 nitto DR's with a 100% stock suspension.

Paul, were these times with the 4.10 gears or were you running a taller gear then? I am asking because I am about to swap out my 3.55's for a 4.10's.

Thanks,
Gabe
