i wondered over to yamaha for the hell of it, and left with a new raptor lol. $700 off sticker sold it for me.

i know most people ride at the dunes in oregon, but that isint practical for me to ride at too often. just wondering if anyone up north more rides around here? where do you go normally?

i mostly trail ride, started getting into minor jumping with my last quad though.

I ride a '98 KTM 200 2-stroke trail bike

Places I've been:

Brown's Camp - loggin roads and some trail riding, fun and close, lots of people there.

Jordan Creek - similar to Brown's camp but alot less people

Jones Creek - basically one trail.. repetitive.. but very close, not that great riding

Henderson Flat - 3hrs away by Madras - BEST riding I've ever done, great trails cut out thorugh pine forest with banked corners, some AWESOME hill climbs, low traffic, nice weather. 10/10

McGubbins Gulch - near Mt Hood, good trail riding, some challenge due to logs/rocks in trails. I almost got lost there on a grey sky day, gotta be careful.

Harrison Lake (Canada) - logging roads, fun, watch out for bears.

Sandlake Oregon Coast - awesome sand dune riding, gotta have sandpaddles, doesn't hurt to crash :nice:

I'm up for riding anytime

Jones Creek is not that bad. Actually, if you have people that know the area pretty well (like myself) there are lots of areas to hit. The place is huge if you know where to go.

I ride a 2004 Suzuki LTZ 400...

Raptors are nice rides...a buddy of mine has one and he did okay for his first time out in Jones Creek. I go to Florence (dunes) once or twice a month, its not too bad of a drive.

I've got a lightly modified Blaster, but want a YFZ450. My buddy has a Raptor, but it's not as much fun to ride on the trails around here because of how heavy it is. It does have some go power, though.
the new raptors... 700r's handle alot better than the old 660's mosly because they now have the same frontend as the yfz's.... but the raptors alot more comfortable. Trail riding and jumping my yfz is great, but out on the bumpy stuff it beats you up quick.... thats the only thing I hate about it.

When you guys are talking Jones creek, dont forget there is Jones creek out by Washougal, and Jones creek down on the Wilson river hwy. (kinda by browns camp)

So C-Money.... gonna put "an arm" in it hungh? (stroker kit) Next thing ya know you'll be trying to shoe-horn a cr500 motor into it. :D :hail2:

Speaking of which if you guys know of a cr500 for sale for a reasonable price let me know. (I miss my 480) I'm not "looking" for one, but if a deal happens to come up.... ya know.

Well, I used to ride back in Indiana. I started out with an 82 XR 250, then got a 92 KTM 125 exc,(still got it back home) then had a 91 KX 500 for a while. I did mostly woods riding back home, and the KX was just too much. I'm sure it would be killer out here on the Dunes though.
I have had a hankering lately to get a nice dual sport, but I can't really afford it.
