I ran a 13.2@107 on my stock 88 block with h/c/i on worn out kumho street tires spinning. I actually spun shifting into 4th gear. So I definately think 12's are there for my car, just need some tires. And my race weight is right around 3250 lbs. I think my combo worked out pretty good.

steep gears 4.10 or 4.30's with sticky tires, a custom converter and weight loss and suspension work. then you should be close might still need heads on a heavy vert.

a Notch is a little more believable. He mentioned his 93 hatch though and only had tires, no suspensions work. I dont see it happening

Yeah, noway a stock hatch can run that time

There is a guy in this months 5.0 mag. that has a completely stock engine.
His mods are u/d pullies, gears, 31 spline axles, control arms. With slicks he ran 12.77 @ 105 mph. That is bad ass!

Que?

You don't even know the trim on the turbo or kit...I don't get it....unless there is some serious traction issues.

lol my are times at a standstill here...

12 seconds is nothing crazy... not even respectable anymore.

that is so mid 90's.

now... you got 12 seconds out of showrooms, you need at least LOW LOW 11's- high 10's to even become near respectable.

12s on just a little....

Here are a few guys running 12s on Iron E7 heads...

I wanted to tell you a buddy of mine bought a used set of your heads and put them on his stock bottom end car with a cobra intake and ecam and the basic bolt ons He busted off a 12.24 @ 112 mph on a 100 shot of nitrous he had a 1.81 60 ft Pretty good huh!! Cool HUH!!
__________

I run the ported E7's also and love them. It was a lot cheaper than buying expensive aluminum heads. My best ET before the heads, cam, and intake was a 13.6 at 108. Now day's it has so far been as fast as 12.24 at 113 and there is still more in it to go once I drive it harder at the
strip. Still getting used to launching the new combo at the strip. Oh yeah that was with STOCK headers cause my Mac's were cracked in three places and had to junk them. _________________

The first pass of the day was a 12.58 @ 108 mph, the car seemed to boog a little out of the hole. The second and last pass was a 12.45 @ 108.4 on a 1.73 60 ft!! the heads and cam were unreal!! I droped almost a full second from before with the head change!! We are going out tonite and see what we can scare up....
_____________

The car is my full weight (nothing removed except the front sway bar) daily driver with the a/c still on it. With no changes other than a set of 26x8 MT ET Drags, the car went 11.65 @ 115.8mph on the 175 shot (any other 60' time from the night would have given me an 11.5x) and 11.87 @ 115.8mph on the 150 shot. .
Overall, I'm pretty happy with 11s in my daily driven bolt-on car with Ported Thumper Heads !

____________________

I run Thumper Stg2s and a Tmoss Ported Explorer...They work..plain and simple...its cheap money and i like that..plus i like running Ford parts...i could have gone the other way, no problem...I just like the idea of banging 12s on ported stock parts...
The way i see it...i got a mild cam, the heads, and decent breathing mods...i got almost 300FWHP...not to shabby far as im concerned...thats about adding 80 HP over stock...thats a nice, noticable hit...

"unique" combo in and dyno'd
Well, it's a unique combo because my plan has had to change a few times due to things breaking. It's everything off of my old 302 swapped onto a shortblock.

The main parts of the setup are:

D.S.S. 331 stroker shortblock
"thumper" ported E-7 heads
Edelbrock performer RPM intake
Steeda #19 cam
24# injectors
190lph fuel pump
unequal length shorties
off-road H pipe
Flowmaster cat-back
dyno-tuned superchip from La'Roccas

The combo made 296.8 rwhp and 344 rwtq *******
( over 348 FWHP w/15% power train loss )

12.80@106mph--motor
11.88@119mph--w/100 shot

** NEW COMBO **
347 Stroker, Thumper Heads, Keith Kraft custom grind cam, Vic. Jr. Intake with BG 750 speed demon, 2 speed PG with TCI group 6 stall, 3.73s.
11.83 N/A 115 mph

___________________________________

I run 12.80 @ 106 with 1.77 60fts on drag radials. My local track is @ 3000 feet in the desert. Corrected for elevation, I'm some where in the 12.30's. My car is less than 3000lbs and has an electric fan, manual steering, K Member....4.10's and even more suspension junk. I run Thumpers with an e cam, 65 mm tb, 73mm mass air, and cobra intake. I think that with more tuning and a real slick I can drop another tenth or two. Simple combo, light weight, and matched parts all make for a pretty stout street car. I can drive anywhere as long as its not hot- no ac.

_______________________________________

Mike, Just a note to let you know what we did at the track today! The place was crowded bad as it was the first day of the season. We are going out tonite and see what we can scare up.... see ya at Hooters around 1030. Thanks again for the help and word on the cam advance.

Hey mike,
I got to run my car awhile back at the track with my new set-up using ur heads
spec's:
stock 302 block
forged pistons/stock rods/crank
F303 cam
stealth intake
holley 600 carb
thumper heads(upgraded spring package)
1.6 roller rockers
1 3/4 bbk full lenghts/ x-pipe
T5 2.95 ratio/ 3.73 gears
NA run: 12.69 at 105 1.8 60'
put a nos 100 shot on and ran a 11.99 at 118 with leaking nos fitting and losing nitrous pressure.
just wanted to give u some times on what ur heads can do even in NA set up pulll all through rpm even as high 7000 with no valve float.
thanks again for the great product/work and ur help with questions.
Andy~

SOOOooo... Hey, 12s arent easy.. but they are there for a lot less than a lot of people think!! Have fun!!

Just me...............................

I could be wrong but a car that normally would run mid to high 14's, would be very difficult to get to 13.1 with only a hellavu launch. Are you sure the car was stock when you bought it?

- and for the thread's sake, A bone stock 5.0 engine in a Notchback with a holley 174 blower. 17" wheels w/ street tires. w/ a bone stock c4 automatic tranny will get you into the high 12's no prob.

my fault, it had Hooker long tubes. The car wasn't actually mine, he brought it to me to have a clutch put in it. only has 72,000 miles on it and its a one owner. i'd really like to have it but he won't sell

You all make is sound so east when I can even get my car in the 13's with 4.10,micky drag radial, shorty headers, off H, flowmasters, 14degress timing, 255 fuel pump, and cold air kit. E.T 14.2, bad 60ft 2.07 for radials, Keep in mind I cant get out of the hole good for some reason, still have all ac, clutch fan, and smog equip with stock pulleys. I dont see slicks putting my Hatch in the low 13's

I put down a 13.90 on street tires when I just had sfc's, exaust, crank pullie, MAF, K&N, and bumped the ignition(on stock 3.08's mind you)

is your car an auto or stick? and do you heat the hell out of your tires?

heat your tires like that **** is going out of style. if you have a stick let out the clutch at about 4000rpm. go mean on those tires. if it is an auto try getting a converter for your next round of mods.

and you should be shifting at about 5300rpm. but nothing over 5400 becouse stock internal 5.0h's don't make ANY power up there. the shifting thing is a mistake I see alot of people make on these cars

oh yeah, my 13.90's were at 60' elevation so I was pretty low to sea level. but my short times were in the 2.0x range and that was on a half burnt trac lock, 3.08's and street tire. so if I can do that, I think that other guys car has alot more in it
