I am hoping to find someone that uses a chip and has similar modifications done to thier car as I do so that I could use the same dealer they did. I am hoping this would eliminate the need for multiple custom tunes due to incorrect air/fuel ratio's.

Also, For those that do use a chip, do you notice significant differences?

Thanx.

It would not be smart to share someones tune. The only place I would get a chip tuned is on a dyno with a wide band O2. The major reasons to get a chip is to correct a finacky computer that won't let the motor run properly or to to correct a rich/lean condition. Sharing one tune may work for one car but not another due to differences in the setup.
If you call Diablo Sport I'm sure the can point you to the nearest dealer 561-908-0040.

Diablo Chip

Hey Guys,
New to StangNets so allow me to introduce myself, my name is Joe and I am from Northern Cali.
I have a 94 mustang GT and have been looking at chips as well, mostly on Ebay. I don't have any real mod on my car except Mac Shorty headers,
H-pipe, cold are intake, AND Sport line Ebach lowering springs with KYB GR2 shock and struts and soon I will be installing a Spec stage1 racing clutch. I want to have a ring and pinion with a ratio of 4:10 but I will have to see about that as far as budget wise goes. What's your take about a diablo sports chip for my stang and is the chip better with a switch?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe.

from all that I understand about chips. If your car is stock, you can get a regular chip for your make and model whcich will increase its performance. However if your car is modified then you have to get a custom tune. Custom tuning is expensive and most of the time the burn does not come out correct on the first or second try. SO as said earlier in the thread, custom tuning done with a dyno or wideband is the only way to go, one tune. However, dyno time is expensive and im more then frustrated with the whole thing :bang: . I just got a masterchip revolution from diablo and am waiting to get it burned.

from what i hear, you can tell diablo what ALL of your mods are (aside from suspension and drivetrain...in case you didnt know) and theyll burn a custom chip for you. i HEARD that this is a solid thing. i dont think it would be solid, but it seems it could clear up a lot on silliness in the ol comp of ours

The diablo chips best function (I think) is that it gets rid of the timing retard that occurs everytime you shift. That helps a bit, I have heard of people getting .4 seconds of thier 1/4 times on a stock car w/ exhaust. And you get get a basic diablo chip for like $230 or so, and then get it reprogrammed to a custom chip for $120 later if you can't offord or need the custum chip at the time.
