Ok, well yesterday i was drivning home and my tire blew out...becuase it need replaced and the places in town were taking to long to get my new nittos. So last night i get on tires.com and see the have the tires i wanted for like 620 to my door. So this morring i call discount tires which is 30 miles from where i am and 30miles from where my car is. So i get a friend to drive me, but he is borrowing another friends car. So we start heading down the mountain and the car bucks alittle like almost stalling my friend said the gas guage didn't work well so i put $15 worth of gas (1gallon or so jk) so we countine on to discount tires get lost then finaly find it. I get my tires load them in his car and go to start it and it dosnt start for like 5mins. Then we start drive and it starts bucking agian. We get about a mile from the place that has my car and it just dies while moving. but it starts right back up so we contiune on flooring it and not going over 2k and not faster then 35mph. We turn into the tire shop and it die agian. but this time it won't start at all. So we wait for my car...about an hour. Then drive to my place and call my friend (the guy who owns the broken car). He's like Oh it did that like 3 months ago but it stop. He has another friend drive him down to his car and we check it out it fires up then stalls and dose this like 5 time and finaly we get it so it can cross the highway and go to kragen to check the codes and they tool was out so now his car is stuck at kragen till tommaorw. Once we find out whats wrong it will either get fix or towed to his uncles shop 300miles away (my girlfriend has a cummins and we'll just rent a trailer).

But anyways these nittos rock i punched off the line a few times and the 275's out back hook much better but the are a tight squeze on stock rims and i dont know if i like that. Also i when from 255/40/17's to stock height agian and the ride quiality is perfect once more.

Been there done that! BTW. Did you get the DRs' or just the regular 555s'? I have heard the 275/40 DRs' are not a problem on the 17X8 wheels but that regular street 275s' are too wide for 17X8s'.

oh, thats not that bad.....

Back in the day,

My wife bought a brand new '86 LX hatch, 5.0, we raided the then "SVO" catalog and put everything there was to put on one. It ran great handled great, great car. We put 16x7 Enkies on it with 225/50 Goodyear euro eagles on 'em, Best tire/wheel combo of the time. Heck, vette's still had 16's as an upgrade wheel then..lol. anyway, time comes for new tires... we take it to our local Gyear shop, drop it off, come back after work and they are all "wow doesnt that look great?" they had mounted 265's instead of 225's, but worse still, they had not used a sleeved tool to dismount/mount the tires, and had absolutly RUINED the lip of every rim! so they had to order new rims ($2000) and then mount the right size tires on them (265's ruined once mounted ($1000), then when their goob selves went to chuck them up in the balencer, they scratched the faces of two of the rims, ($1000), and they screwed up the alignment, which had nearly destroyed the front tires by the time the two new rims to replace the ones that they ate up with the balancer came in, had to be replaced..($500). Havn't even walked into a Gyear dealership since...

go tire rack.. where I bought the Enkie's and Eagles from in the first place, and my current wheels, and any wheels/tires in the future...
