if he had a 5 speed, he would win, the gt40's compared to the gt40p's arent as good, they dont flow as well.

In my case I am running street tires, I know if I had some sticky tires I would be doing atleast mid 13's. Depends alot on weather conditions too.

What mph, because my auto bolt on fox ran slower on a sticky tire, not enough gear/converter to get out of the hole. Also his 15.4 sounds like 100% driver error, so he should go faster with the auto. I think you will still win, your car should run in the 13s with the 5-speed as long as you can drive it well.

I hate it when people list shiftlights as mods.

I mentioned that I could get atleast get a mid 13 now that I have a 5 speed. And yes I believe it was driver error the first time we raced, I could'nt understand why he would have those times.

Just trying to list any little thing that would give him the edge, I don't really think he needs it unless he does the AOD shuffle.
Running a 14.3 @99mph on a street tire with poor traction IMO is not that bad, I know my car has a little more to give.

When I reread what you said, you never mention the 5-speed, just state that you would have been mid 13s with sticky tires... With the 5-speed you should, I knocked an easy 3-4 tenths off my AOD times with just a T5 swap, and no standard driving experience.

His engine is breathing better than yours, but the AOD is going to hurt him big time. He must really suck at shifting if he was willing to trade his T5 for an AOD. As long as you can drive, you'll probably win.

Wow - with those times, I thought maybe you were racing on top of a mountain somewhere....but in Texas? A bone stock 5 speed can run those times. Was it 120 degrees when you raced?

Yeah I think he did'nt drive the Stang to its potential, so now I will make good use of the 5 speed. Weather was acutally in the mid 90's last time we were out there, my guess is I was'nt pushing my car hard enough and my 2.2 60ft times sucked! lol

Well the fact that he is running a 28" tire knocks his gear ratio back down to 3.73's or even 3.55's and with an auto that isnt ideal. I think with the 5 speed and 4.10's you should have the edge. Those cars are extremely close though...i think it should be a close race. I also think that a 15.4 with those mods on a stick car is pathetic. Maybe someone should give him a civic EX 5 speed for a while til he learns how to drive!
