I finally got the mustang started up, I was having a little troubles but found out that the timing was too retarded so it wouldn't start. Now the distributor is against the water neck and it starts for a sec but usually dies when I take off the starter and one time it ran a little more after I cranked the key and let go of the starter. So I am still too low on timing. Now what should I do to get more timing out of it. Should I take the dizzy out set it back a few teeth and crank again or should Start all the way over and take it out, find TDC, and then stab the dizzy?

Just restab it.

Good luck.

:stupid:

Although I hate to admit it, I have had to do this before myself. A couple of times actually. Just be careful not to completely dislodge the pump shaft, its easy to get that thing lodged sideways.

Congrats, I know exactly how good that feels.
