runs about 25 bucks compared to 400 plus for a holley, of course im thinkin of this one becuase it flows alot more air and says FORD.. im still trying to ponder on how i can make the intake work with the TB opening right there

Try a 95-99 5.0 Explorer manifold. Put the 5.0 cover plate on it and most folks won't know the difference. It flows about the same as the GT40.

For a 331 the best intake would be a new high performance intake for the setup to flow to its potential but if you want to restrict it to keep it stock, Id say go with a cobra or explorer intake and get it ported.

Foxfan's engine looks pretty stock. He just did a bunch of work to it.
Yes, but you are missing the "makes lots of power" part:rlaugh: I would go with a HEAVILY ported explorer intake for a 331. If you want that stock look. Or you just get a better one and keep your hood shut....

yea haha i have alot of friends with 5.0s but they are not all there when it comes to the aftermarker, so when they see my stang is ultimately faster than theirs and they tell me to pop the hood, ill be able to say its stock hehe, my cars just faster than yours :)

Don't paint them black, use Ford Blue or cast iron color paint. Lots of engine builders paint the engine black and it could raise some suspicions. Only a head case would paint aluminum heads blue, right?

As far as what will flow the most, you might try to find a Holley Systemax I intake or a more common Explorer, but even then, a healthy 331 will be held back by either.

You appear to be taking a kind of "sleeper" approch to your Stang. What I would suggest is to extrude hone the stock upper to the max limits while extrude honeing a Holley SysteMax 1 lower at the same time. This will keep your stock appearing intake. BTW the block and heads should be painted grey not black.
