Whos running their stang without a Vehicle Speed Sensor?? Do I need one?

I did the mass air conversion on my 87. My car doesnt have a vehicle speed sensor the connector is empty where the wires should be? How important is it to have one? Anybody have any problems not running with one. If i do decide to put one in, what years started to get a VSS in them, what would i need to swap over? speedo cable, sensor, and obviously the wires?

The only negative I've noticed is that you always pull the code for it...other than that I don't think it matters

You might want to set the idle a little higher so the car does not stall during a rolling idle under load (getting off the freeway, where PS, brake lights, etc are working). You would not be the first to not use one though.
