Yesterday it was 18C outside here in Medicine Hat :jaw: It was awesome!!! I still haven't parked the stang. I can't bring myself to do it with weather like this. I just got my Nitto 555R's on Friday and ordered my Magnaflow catback and Mac Straightshot today. I hope the snow stays away until I can get this stuff and take the wagon for a rip or two. Anybody else still lucky enough to be driving their stang? (watch this, we'll get a foot of snow just because i opened my big fat mouth.)

I put mine away as soon as all the snow melted after that first snow fall. After the first snow fall I didn't think I'd get the chance to wash the car and get it all ready for storage so as soon as it got nice I didn't wanna take any chances and I washed it all up and put the cover on and all that storage related stuff.

Joe, you should check out the actual Ford covers! They are super nice! I have the 3 ply indoor cover cause my car in a garage. I'm guessing you're parking your in a garage too. So you should check out this cover! It's a really nice soft material and has little things to make it breathe. And it even has a Mustang logo on the front. I paid about 350 for mine taxes in, the regular price is 350 plus tax. If you wanna take a look at it let me know and you stop by and take a look.

CanadaStang hows the car running? It looks like your putting down some awesome times. I wish mine was running 14.1. I can't seem to get traction, thusly i bought Nitto Dr's, hopefully that will help. How is your Superchip? Do you like it? Does it work well with our headswaps or did you have to get it custom tuned at a speed shop? I really need something. I haven't been able to get mine dyno tuned. Do you notice any extra ponies with the chip? Sorry about the barrage of questions. I just see that your car looks to be running awesome and i'd like to see mine get there.

Hey Tweeked, what elevation is your local track? I'm thinking your up a little higher than where I am which will effect your times, but with those Nittos, I think that beast of yours is going to create some very nice times :nice: , especially with your 3.73's.
I like the SCT, it's kinda cool. My Stang still pings when it's warm though, unless I switch the SCT chip to the -2 degree timing setting. But when it's a little cooler, and I set it to " Custom tune with advance timing" it pulls really good right to 6000rpm with no predetonation. The tune improved the idle and really helped in the upper rpms .Without the tune I was getting my best times shifting at 5500rpm, but now I'm getting better times shifting at 6000rpm. I didn't really notice any seat-of-the pants difference [other than it revs a lot faster after 5500rpm] but it helped my 1/4 miles by 2 tenths and 2.7mph Keep me posted on how those Nittos work.

Oh, I allmost forgot to ask TweekedGT, what are you getting for 60ft times? I'm cutting 2.1 to 2.17, I think I could maybe get a little better but I don't want to be too mean to my clutch.

Our track is about 2400 feet above sea level. My 60ft's have been terrible. I'm usually running 2.24+. I have tried everything but the track prep is usually pretty bad here. I used to dump the clutch at 2000 rpms but spun into and through second. Now i just feather it off the line until the car starts moving and then hammer the gas. That's how i get my best times.I haven't been power shifting either so that might improve my times. It's just so darn hard on the clutch. Oh well we'll see what happens. I'm really hoping I can get my drags on before the snow flies. I want to see what they can do. It sucks living where drag race season ends so early. Now i have to wait until April or May to see how the extra components work. I really want a Superchip though to straighten out the power band and maybe up my rev limiter. It seems to hit pretty low, about 6200rpm's. I guess I'll spend the winter spending money and upping the horse. It never seems fast enough does it? Well, take it easy, go give your pony a hug now that it's parked. :D
I'm going to beat mine up for a few more days hopefully. Ciao.

Ya, I was thinking your elevation there was around that, [we're at 1050ft] so that would have a lot to do with the higher times. I would guess those snazzy new tires will lower your times by 2-3 tenths, or more. If I was to run you on your track, I would bet that I would be able to give details on what the back of your car looks like as it's pulling away.
It would be nice if you could get to the track at least one more time this year, to try out the Nittos, that way you can gauge the improvements this winter's mods have made.I do a lot of testing with my G-tech Comp. so I can tell what works and what doesn't before heading to the track.
Anyhoo, have fun cruising around in your Stang, knowing some us are stuck driving our winter beaters in the freezing cold. :D

Mine's plated till Dec 8 so I figure may as well drive it till than.....mostly cause I'm not sure what I'll be driving after that.

For you guys storing your cars inside in an un-heated garage you might want to consider removing your hood, as than less heat gets trapped under there, and less chance of mice making it a home for the winter

I'm going to be driving mine all winter. I'm only 19 so I only have one car. This will be my first winter with this car, my old car got totalled that week Edmonton got our first snowfall. Some chick crossed into my lane and wrote it off. But now I have my Stang so I'm happy.
