Who's still driving their stang?

Booooo, we don't want to talk to you! :D J/K! Still no snow here either. What the heck is going on with the weather? If we don't get snow soon i'm going to unpack the old thong and start suntaning on the front lawn! Non of you want that to happen, especially my new neighbours. They'll be in for a treat. :D

If you have a 99 plus with traction control, just slap some blizzaks on and it's no problem to drive all year round. Mine's a better winter car than my Taurus. Really, I think the days of having to park your Mustang for the winter are truly over.

Agreed, however, I believe many of us put them away because winter is so hard on vehicle. By putting mine away for winter its still in the same condition, if not better, than when I purchased it. I personally don't even drive mine in the rain if at all possible.

It saves a lot on the "nickel and dime you to death" maintanance that can start to occur on cars after a few years of hard winters.

Ya, I totally agree with you, I think I drove my 04 in the rain like 3 times last year. It doesn't help that my tires suck pretty bad in the rain. And think of your poor paint, I think winter is probably one of the worst things for your paint, sand and dirt all over and you can't wash your car by hand so you have to use those high pressure spray things and ah! Just not cool!!

Yep I agree, also starting the engine in -35 temperatures is just cruel, and then hammering along on frozen suspensions creating all kinds future squeeks and rattles. My winter beater is expendable.

Had to bring the stang outta hibernation due to mechanical failure in the winter beater, and with the influx of family for the holidays, so we can all get around. A strict "U break it u bought me an 05" policy is enforced. Only problem is that the speed density doesn't seem to like anything below about -15c, tends to surge a lot at idle.

P.S. anyone know anything bout putting a 302 in a RWD Tempo?

There are all wheel drive tempos so getting a rear drive system in one should not be difficult, just take some creative welding. for engine mounting + tranny cut out the center tunnel (for tranny fitting) and install the k frame engine and tranny from mustang all in one peice. modify strut mounts to accept mustang struts. modify fender and quarter panels as necasary to fit the mustang wheels. Fitting the k frame should be fairly straight forward. you will need elec fans, possibly have to switch to a fuel cell to clear the rear diff... lots of little things but it would be a fun project.... I am up for it if you have the space and a heated garage.

.... Nobody would see that coming lol.

I was planning on making some measurements on the dearly departed Tempo I've got, with regard to the axle lengths and such with swapping Mustang parts, into the new frame. The engine should fit, save for maybe a rad relocation and a Hemi-style hood scoop to clear the new engine intake.
If it actually worked there would have to be "you got beaten by a Tempo" bumper stickers to hand out to all the unfortunate ricers. This all of course "budget permitting". Hopefully I can get back my part time job with the gov't after Christmas. That should provide a nice cash flow for speed part acquisitions :)

Parked mine at the end of October as that's when the plates ran out. Could have driven it for the first 3 weeks of November too as we didn't get snow until then.

Expecting blizzard-like conditions tomorrow, glad it's not on the road now. They salt the roads here like madmen if they think it's warm enough for it to melt...
