So I made up at least part of my mind.
I am going with a JLT intake. Now for the next step:
1.JLT direct $575 shipped
2.Brenspeed $594 shipped
3.Bamachips. $580 shipped

I wan't to get it color matched.
I like that Brenspeed will update your tune for free as you add to the car.
but they charge the most for the color match.

What is everyones oippinion on these tunes?

Thanks,Mike

I first got mine from JLT direct and I thought it was great and everything. I then ordered Bamachip's torque tune and I found out how wrong I was about JLT's tune. Go for Bamachip and you'll get his torque and performance tunes. He'll give you a new custom tune for only $50, whereas Brenspeed's tunes are generic tunes.

Brenspeeds are canned as well?
I thought he tweaked them for each intake and additonal part.
I read a few places that there is an idle issue w/ the bama tune.

I suggest Bamachips as well, Doug is a great guy to deal with. I've been nothing but happy with my order!

Mustang Magic in Deer Park? They did a good job with my pulley, gear and spring installation. Will be going back to install a Torque Converter and LCAs.

Doug's tune makes a fairly good guesstimate of how and what to tune your vehicle based on your existing parts/mods. Of course, this assumes that all vehicles with the same mods would perform exactly the same. In most cases, it should, but there are other factors that can skew the results. I use Doug's tune and they work well for me, but may not work well for you even if you have the same mods as I do. Of course, most people who use Doug's tune will swear by him (including myself), but there are a few who may benefit from a dyno tune.

A performance tune hooks your vehicle up to a dyno and has various sensors (O2, RPM, Heat, etc..) in place to do testing. They then adjust your tune to what your car performs on a dyno. For instance, they can check the A/F and make sure it's near the stoichiometric ratio. They can also change shift points to ensure highest gains. Also, it usually costs mondo $$$ as lots of time and many dyno pulls are needed to get an accurate tune. But in the end, nothing beats a good tuner with accurate tools and lots of time and money.

I am afraid to try the torque tune. I'm running the premium fuel performance tune, and well... an automatic chirping the tires into 4th with traction control on is enough for me

I'm assuming the torque is more for drag racing, but not really sure.

Btw my car is stock except for the cai and tune.

I was told that The torque tune is more for bottom end light to light around town . And performance is a more top speed highway tune. A little less grunt with more top end.
He also told me he has an 89 octane tune for mid range to replace either the 87 or if you don't want to run 91.

Sieben, Do you have an automatic. And do you have an idle issue at start up where it either tachs up real high or it dips to low?
That is the only concern I have heard from w/
Bamachips.

Anyone else w/ input . I would appreciate it.

Thanks,Mike

Brent at Brenspeed does not do generic "canned" tunes. When I ordered my JLT intake from him, he asked all the pertinent questions, i.e. did I have CMRC deletes? longtubes? what gears?, etc. The tune works perfect and the car runs great......I highly recommend Brenspeed.

Thanks niner555
Thats what I thought from things I read. I e-mailed him a few days ago and he has not gotten back yet. However Doug from Bama has emailed me several
times w/answers to my Q's.

If you have talked to Doug, you should know Doug also asks the same questions to ensure you have a good tune. Both Doug and Brent are A+ in my book.

I went with Doug because he is UNIVERSALLY raved about by people who have his tune. I was surprised when he EXCEEDED my expectations, which were pretty lofty.

BAMACHIPS is the way to go.
