Post one incorrect fact on FB, and people will actually dig into your profile, look through your stuff and then personalize their insult to you. It's terrible.

I bite my tongue on correcting people on there for incorrect info because none of the younger guys seem to be able to take someone telling them they are wrong.

Here's my take on FB Mustang Groups

What's the biggest tire I can fit on the rear
Whats the biggest cam I can install on my stock motor? I am doing it for the sound
I want to remove my A/C, P/S to make it faster
I want to remove my EGR. cats, smog pump because RACECAR
160 degree thermostats make my car run cooler

I haven't gotten into any Facebook groups. I agree with the assesment of corral. There is one guy in particular who is very knowledgeable, but his condescending tone and irritability make it REAL difficult to deal with. When new members ask questions it's awful the way they get treated. They usually disappear quickly.

Speaking of borral, anyone notice that traffic there is very light compared to years ago, but for some reason they have a lot of tech guys there that really know their stuff. I can think of 3-4 professional shops that tend to post a lot in their 5.0/5.8 tech section as well. Why does that site live on? The mobile site function blows as well

I'm sure that somewhere on the internet, you have a web page that you forgot to delete.

I keed I keed (sorta). Last I heard, some corporation bought them out and they just stopped giving a damn. No idea when the last time was that their software was updated. Those tech guys that you see there have been there for YEARS and are probably the only reason that site hasn't been reduced to an archive.

New people coming here since I've been a member I think has increased a little, must be my witty humor I'd say 1 in 5 new members stay, likely the same with new stang owners, about 1 in 5 will keep and repair/mod the car successfully the rest will stick big tires on the back, add a 5" cowel hood, try to make it run with a bumpy cam, fail, stick a carb on it, fail again then sell it.

Not too shabby since it's only 1 in 4 that even has an IP address in English speaking country.

Part of their welcome message says that you give away free GT-40 Tubular intakes.

Seems legit

Yeah, Mr. "go do 500 technical tests that are probably above most peoples heads" and then DO NOT speak until these tests are done and GOD FORBID you ask a question and absolutely, most importantly, don't ever, ever buy a part to fix your car unless you have done all outlined tests that he, the god of mustangs has instructed you to do...or face being crucified. That guy? In my opinion he is single handedly killing the tech forums over there.

The problem with internet buyers is pms and texts have given a voice to all the gutless pussies that would never contacted you at all if they had to look you in the eye or talk to you on the phone. It's just too easy for tire kickers now, nobody has to man up. There are no repercussions for poor online etiquette.

I personally don't contact anyone until I know I want it. Maybe just need a few details.

I think i'd rather no response though rather than a low ball with an idiotic explanation of why it's worth so much less.

I don't have a facebook page, I just don't ever hear of anything good coming from it on a person level.

Had the opposite happen yesterday. I’m helping a buddy sell some trading cards. Guy offered to buy the lot if we discount the price. We agreed, he then backed out for no reason. Why waste our time

And in the same token, if I read an ad that poses more questions than answers, I move along. If I have to contact some butt-head for basic information there's a better than great chance that said butt-head is oblivious.
