Why doesn't ford come out with a Boss mustang?

Yeah I think what it comes down to is people will believe anything. It like this I could log onto a forum say I work for ford and say all sorts of stuff and people will believe becasue they want to. Than the people who believe this person will swear up and down that they personally know this person and than when the time comes for these mustangs to come out they don't and these people that supposedly work at ford are no where to be found.

And do you remember the "Hurricane" became re-named the Boss 6.2L which is already in the F-series super duty trucks, and will also be included in the 2010 F-150 Raptor. Real funny indeed, isn't it

The Hurricane and Boss 6.2L names have been used interchangeably over the past few years. I know at least since 2003 when the 04 F150s came out. I don't buy into the speculation, I know better with Ford or any other auto mfg. I doubt that the Raptor will come out, ever. How much of a market is there really for a truck like that !? It's badass none the less but I don't think for one minute more people will buy that truck than a new Lightning. We all heard about how they were going to bring back the Lightning in a 2004+ F150 platform. Did it ever happen? No. I still stand by my belief that I'll believe it when I see it ..

the PJ edition has the cammer 5.0, but it'll cost you about as much as a gt500, probly more for the dealer mark up for these rare editions. brenspeed has the 5.0 block on their website.
Saleen H302 Extreme Crate Engines
but it's 13k
by the time 2011 rolls around, i plan to already have a built short block in my GT so no need for the new 5.0 engine for me, i'll have something better.:D

What it comes down to, is people who have enough common sense to recognize that Ford isn't about to risk losing sales to the competition, due to being outperformed by 100+HP. Case in point, base 2010 Camaro's LS-3 can be purchased at under 32K MSRP rated at 422HP. FYI, Ford has never been underpowered by the competition by such a large margin in it's entire history, and if you think for one moment that Ford is just going to sit back and do nothing about it. Then your obviously living in a fantasy world, plain and simple.

As for the reason behind Ford not officially confirming the 5.0 400HP (Coyote) 4V, at this time. Most people also have the common sense to recognize, that Ford will not make any official announcements, until after the 2010 Mustang goes into production this upcoming spring. Otherwise if they make an announcement too early. Ford would then risk losing sales on their 2010 models.

Think about it, if you knew that a 400HP 5.0 was coming the next model year. What would you do, buy the 2010 model with the same 300HP 4.6 3V, or would you wait just another year to get the same car with 100 more HP ? I think the answer is more than obvious.

As for the Ford insider whom I previously mentioned. No, I do NOT know him personally, however I've been very familiar with his reputation for well over a year, and therefore as a direct result. Consider his info as reliable.

Also FYI, for those who have known me during the past 3.5 years. Know full well that I do NOT post info on this website, until after conducting extensive research, and have determined that such research, is both accurate and reliable.

With that said, perhaps you should bear that in mind, before you attempt to discredit one of your fellow website members, along with having the evidence to back it up !

Why wait for Ford to do anything? There's plenty of aftermarket go fast goodies to build the car of your dreams for the same or less than Ford would charge you. If you want a Boss mustang - get out there and build one!

Klaw, I understand where your coming from, however for those who are in the market for a new Mustang. Why buy a 2010 which has the same 300HP 4.6 3V, when you can buy a 2011, that has the new 400HP 5.0 4V.

Perhaps it's just me, but the 2011 would be well worth the wait IMO :)

I agree with you but I don't get why people will wait 2, 3, 4 years for the next great thing and then are disappointed when it isn't built or doesn't turn up with the features they're looking for

There's enough parts and pieces for any Mustang lover to build whatever they want now and not have to wait and hope that some faceless, nameless, mid-level manager in Ford gets his way with a new engine design. If someone wants a badass mustang they only need to get started putting one together. I get the impression for some people life is more about bitching about what someone else isn't doing instead of getting out there and actually doing something themselves.

I work for ford at the Kansas city assembly plant and can tell you that they tell us nothing!!! We don't know anything about new models until they run the test models down the assembly line a few months before they are in full production...But not unlike the forums there are always rumors floating around the plant about EVERYTHING! I'm guessing with the market the way it is that Ford is conserving money and probably won't make any expensive changes to the product lineups especially for a small niche car like a boss mustang...If the plans were already in the works then maybe but Ford doesn't know what they are going to do next month let alone over a year from now...

I agree with you. For I definitely would not wait more than a year, even for a 400HP 5.0. But let me just say this, I would not post info regarding a new 5.0 engine unless I knew the info was indeed reliable and accurate. In which the Ford insider whom I previously mentioned, has provided accurate info for well over a year, and for that reason. I consider him as a reliable source.

As for myself personally, I have no intentions of trading in my current 2005 GT. towards a 2011 model, as I'm just not in the market for a new car. And I certainly do not want to end up with car payments, all over again.

So I'm pretty much just going to add either a SuperCharger, or Turbo to my 2005 GT, and if I can reach up to 400+HP. That should be more than enough power than I'll ever really need. Plus I'll also be saving a ton of money in the process.. :nice:

From my understanding, the 5.0 (Coyote) has been in the testing and development process at the Windsor, Ontario plant. And has thus been tooling up for this engine for a year now.

the only thing is. if someone wants to buy something thats fast out of the factory. they look at the mustang and see only 315 or whatever the 2010 is rated at, and then see the SS camaro at like 420 or whatever it is. ford has always been low on the horsepower number out of the factory. if you want something with that kind of power you gotta go into gt500 territory for new car.

if the 5.0 is going to be 400 horses, and then able to order it with a whipple, i think ford should be looking great for 2011.

not alot of people are happy about modifying a brand new car. i don't have a problem with it, depending on the situation, but some people are completely against it because of warrenties and etc.

Finally, somebody understands and gets what I've been pointing out here. For this is exactly the reason why Ford has to step up to the plate. Otherwise they're going to lose potential customers to the competition, when they find out they can purchase a base 422HP LS-3 Camaro for under 32k MSRP.

As I mentioned before, Ford isn't going to just sit back and allow GM or the competition to outperform the Mustang by over 100+ HP. For that is just totally unacceptable, let alone attempting potential suicide !
