Why don't more folks choose Kenne Bell Superchargers?

I'm in the research phase right now of choosing a blower. I'm looking at all possibilities i.e. vortech/paxton, procharger, intercooled or water injected. I know vortech & the rest are tried & true, but why aren't more folks running a Kenne Bell? What's the scoop on them with a 94/95 stang? After looking on their website, I'm leaning towards a Kenne Bell.

Yup they are $$ and can only be used with gt40/cobra lowers. Not everyone wants to be at full boost at 2000rpms like the KB do.

KB's are known for suckin oil....ask JR about that one. He said he would drive around for a little bit...and it would almost be bone dry.

Whipple superchargers are suppposed to be much better and cheaper than KB's...but they dont make one for the 5.0

I love mine. As far as full boost by 2000, well, only if you romp it. you can drive normally and not be in the boost at all. Oil... mine doesn't use any, friend of mine has the same thing, no oil issues either. the lower intake, it works witha stocker also, kinda limits your options there. Soon, I'm gonna get a ported lower. all in all i think its a cool blower. if you got the opportunity, try a frineds with a centrifugal blower, then try a KB. Installing it is a piece of cake too. good luck man

One of my friends has one in his 95 GT and it's like a rocket launch. I think a lot of people don't get it because they're afraid of the insane torque... or just the fact that with fuel upgrades it'll cost about $4,000 (with the blowzilla).

I know a guy with a 03 cobra who is looking to get a whipple cause he's gonne be pushing upwards of the teens in PSI and he said the KB will leak oil at that high of power level. Who knows....

JR also ran his WITHOUT any oil for a little bit, on accident, some of his problems could be attributed to that.

They also have a 1500 (1.5) 6psi kit that is used on the stock HO intake. Max boost is 9psi.

I've decided to go with the 2200 zilla dilla option sometime in the future when I done having fun with the NA thing.

Gotta love all that torque for a street car.

I dont have any experience with them (yet) but Im pretty sure the KB will last alot longer then a Vortex, or Pro-Charger..They give great power but I think you can get alot more mileage out of a KB

All the urban legends about KB's make me laugh. If you want to know something about a KB, ask someone who has one. If you have any specific questions let me know.

The KB is a phenomenal blower and you will have tons of enjoyment driving your car if you install one. That's all I can say honestly b/c since I put one on I have been on top of the world in daily driving situations. I can't say much for the track b/c I haven't ran it on one yet but I'm sure it will go low 13's easy and possibly lower on good race gas and high timing.

I'm taking it off in a week and I have to say that I'm gonna miss it a lot and contemplating getting rid of it and possibly keeping it on the shelf in case I get another 5.0. Why am I taking it off you may ask?
I'm going turbo for the first time in a Stang and I'm really looking forward to the project. I was kinda twisted into getting the KB just like I am with the turbo kit. I hear a lot and I wonder just like you are now, so no better way to find out unless you try it for yourself.
My opinion of the KB is a "10" (1-10) and I'm glad to have had one in my car b/c it has been and still is until next week "TONS OF TORQUE & FUN, FOR REAL!!! My $.02
