it's all vendor driven...all of it. Look at the section post counts on any mustang site...you'll see the 5.0 section COMPLETELY dominates the forum activity...just look here on stangnet and compare 5.0 section count to any of the others...there is no comparison. HOWEVER......when you look at what the vendors are pushing, you'll notice it's their latest and greatest 4.6 products. Yes the 5.0 readers are a HUGE market but the stories go where the vendors are pushing them to go. Reality is if you were to 'redo' all the old 5.0 stories done over the yrs I would be surprised if issues sold didn't increase simply because young members are aquiring the 5.0's and crave the articles we older members have already seen come and go.
Good idea! I could be a regular contributor to that sorta thing with my own column, "1,001 Uses for JB Kwik."![]()
Or how about these titles:
"Ghetto-Rigger's Guide"
"Cars That Real People Own"
"Stuck in the 80's"
"Broken Ashtray Door Society"
"Beaterstangs"
...or perhaps the more practical...
"Fox Fords"![]()

Car Craft = "CHEVY Craft"
Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a single article in that mag pertaining to a Ford product of any form, aside from maybe a once-in-a-great-while 60's Mustang.
they have expanded their coverage a little more since then. however, im in the opposite boat as you guys. i used to like the older coverage, but now that i own a S197, i dont care as much about the older tech articles. i need the newest tech for the newest powertrain. i still have the classics, but with a new car payment, they get to go to the back bburner for a while. i was all about low buck budget builds and cruisers, but now i need to step it up a little more. having something that was made with duct tape, jb weld, and some spare exhaust parts just does not cut it on a new car.

Judging by some of the comments to my posts, it looks like I hurt a few feelings on this one? Suck it up boys and girls, the truth hurts some times! The 5.0L and it’s aftermarket is slowly going the way of the do-do bird. The amount of new aftermarket parts being produced for them now are comparable to the amount of aftermarket parts that were being made for the Mod Motor cars when they first hit the scene. Sure, there will always be a market for the Fox or the trusty 5.0L, but the tables have turned in the last few years and it’s now the Modular powered cars (be it SN95, New Edge or S197) that have gained the majority of the popularity out there….and that’s where most of the money is being spent.
As the matter of fact, I find it kinda funny that the majority of the 5.0L guys posting in this thread are under the impression that the "New Mustangers" are all automatically going to go out and buying Fox’s. Spend some time over at the 4.6L section for a while and you'll see more than a fair share of new stangers climbing into mod motor SN95 and New Edge Cars. They've really come down in price and in some cases can be had for LESS than that of a Fox or early SN95
I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed for this, considering which this Forum this thread is posted in, but 5.0L Fox owners are amongst some of the most delusional I’ve ever seen when it comes to the resale value of their car. The Auto trader is full of guys who think their ragged out 200,000-mile fox with half a body kit and a CAI is still worth $10,000.
Tim....pass me a miller lite!
No chance he bought one of the SN95's, huh.![]()
