I used to have Jeeps and loved cruisin around with the top off so I came about my love of drop tops honestly.;) To me, the only thing that compares is riding a motorcycle but that wasn't for me...too inconvenient. The Kentucky Derby is this weekend here in Louisville so it's a party everywhere. Tomorrow is going to be a friggin monsoon but today was absolutely beautiful so the wife and I cruised all the cruise spots, from 3p to 12am. Cruising with the top down is therapy for me, always has been, keeps me sane. Don't get me wrong...I'd love to have a coupe too, but if I can only have one, it's gotta be a drop. I felt kind of stupid telling some of our friends that I wanted to go cruise tonight instead of hanging out at a bar drinking. Today is THE cruising day of the year here in Louisville.

I hear you on that, i had a beautiful 95 white mustang that i spent so much time and money on, but i could not get past the fact that it was a hardtop and ended up selling it, i don't think i could ever own a hardtop mustang. I just came back from riding in the stang with the top down, 50-70 cars deep, it was some crazy ****, people were street racing like morons, we stayed there for hours till finally the cops came then it was every man for himself, you would have thought it was a scene out of "the fast and the furious" lol.

Never had any desire to own a convertible. I liked the sunroof on my '93 GT just for letting in alittle more light, but the stupid option the sunroof gave you of either being open a crack or having to take the glass part of the sunroof completely out was stupid. No convertible Mach's unless you have a sawzall handy.

Yep, 0 Mystic convertibles.

Never feel stupid for wanting to ride! You already know this but you shouldn't ever feel bad for others failing to adheres to its truth... Its a therapy for the soul and adrenaline for the heart.

this is my second vert. 1st one was a 95 v6. had a 91 notch for a while but I really wanted a vert so I got this one. the only downside to the verts is the weight. mine weighed in just a couple pounds short of 4,000lb with me in it & a 1/2 of fuel. when I have it loaded down with 3 passengers, fuel gas tank, trunk fuel of crap ect....it feels so slow even with the 393 in it.
to remedy that problem I am seriously considering getting better heads & throwing a turbo on it later this year:D
but on the vert topic.....I'll take a vert over a coupe any day. drove mine, top down for 120+mi on a trip today:nice:

The only problem with a vert is , it seems everytime your in traffic and not paying attention that "girls just want to have fun" is on the radio.

and well you just look gehy

You definitely have to pay attention to what is on the radio. I like my music loud, so I HAVE to get this broke CD player situation fixed asap.;)

I just hate when others say verts are for women. I love riding top down on occasions mainly at night time. During the day it's too hot and I start sweatin' and the sweat starts stickin'. But at night, like you said is therapy. With the perfect breeze the ride can be so soothing like getting a good massage after a hard day's work.

+1

something about dropping the top and driving home the 'back way' that makes even the sh**iest day better

(and I do enjoy blasting some Rolling Stones or AC/DC or something like that when some tool pulls up next to me with his rattle trap BWWWP-BWWWP-BWWWPing away...no top mean the music can get LOUD :D )
