Why buy the set? I just use a 3/8's wrachet with a 1" expension on it... Works out great! It just barely fits inbetween the overflow tank bracket and the tensioner.

But yes thoes are the wrenches... We have them at work and they are nice, but I'll stick with my wrachet and 1" extension for the house

nope, the kit i have is made by gearwrench, comes in a big black case and has about 20pcs. picture a long handle that you put a wrench on and on the other end of the wrench you put your socket, adapter, whatever. it's great cuz when you put the wrench on the handle you can make it offset not just straight like that picture shows.

the descrip doesn't say that it comes with a 3/8 drive bit you can put an extension onto but it does.

I work at an RV repair shop and I get that way too. I can install a satellite in 3 hours one day, and the other it will take me 6.

Sometimes when things go wrong, more things go wrong and they keep piling up.

All you can do is solve one problem at a time, and not let things get you down. You will finish the job, sometimes it will take longer.

I've been there, too. I'm sure we all have. Brings back memories of installing a new clutch, only to have the car not go into gear while running. Got mad, took EVERYTHING back apart, put it all back together, double, and triple checked all my torque specs, started it, same thing. About 10 hours of work all because my darn torque wrench somehow lost its calibration. I was so frustrated by it, I had it towed to a trans shop, and they told me all my flywheel, and pressure plate bolts were loose. Thankfully it was discovered, but frustrating (and expensive) nonetheless...

More or less, about how long is that handle? Because the belt wrench handles are long and allow for manipulation ABOVE the engine bay.

ZACH...That 1" extension wont fit in there when you have the Vortech.


UPDATE: Turns out that I called my mechanic to ask about borrowing his belt wrench Monday. When I explained that I couldnt find the pivotting head wrench I use, he told me that it was in the box of the alternators (the ones he swapped cases for me) that I gave him He said he didnt know why I "gave" it to him in the boxes.

My Mechanic brought this home for me to use tonight.
The kit is pretty neat, the way you connect everything together
The only thing is you can pivot the head (neck area) at the point of entry of the wratchet into the idler pulley sq hole.

I just got home now, so Ill see how it works tomorrow.

i love that kit and everyone else in the shop always borrows it. i use it for all sorts of stuff thanks to the 3/8 ratchet adapter

Not mechanical but....I once ordered new lugnuts for my car. How many did I order?....8, yes EIGHT!! How I came to that number I'll never know. Eight lugnuts wouldn't even cover 2 of the wheels.

a friend of mine put a vortech on his jeep, adn forgot to ptu teh lower rad hose clamp on. then took it for a test drive. sounded funny, so he played aroudn wtih vacuum lines and such....then beat the piss out of it AGAIN.....

then rebuilt his motor cuz he fried it
