So who here knows why gas is so much more in oregon and so much cheaper in other states like sub 1.70? Its over 2.30 for reg in my town and going up a nickel a day.

And yes i know cali is doing worse then us.

I'm not really sure where you got your info, but I just drove across the country a few weeks ago, before the latest jump, and I did not see one station in the 1.70's, I think the cheapest I saw was in the 1.90's -- and that was in Oregon (as best I can recall). In fact, the most I paid was in the middle of nowhere in Nevada, I paid in the 2.40's -- and that was before the latest hikes.

Well, I see the postings -- but I can't believe it. I never paid those prices at all. I was at the 1.60's when I left CT, and it was like overnight everyplace I went to was $2. But, I guess I stand corrected...there are some cheaper places.

Maybe it would have hit $2 had you stayed in CT too! :D

hate buying gas up here in bham.....you really have to price it before you buy....where i lived in seattle it was more or less allways the same place to place a few cence off, up here its quite a difference between the brices on one street to another (btw sunset cheveron is a bit more $$ then meridian) Stupid wagon only wants the best.... hehe

I bought a diesel because diesel fuel is suppose to be cheaper...but it's usually the price of most mid grades now. I don't see why diesel had to go up when it is easier to make. I was paying $2.14 last week when i filled up, and i havent been driving a lot. i think it just went up to $2.20 now...Just be glad your not in Cali, where it's $2.99 for the cheap stuff

i'm going to start cycling to work (that's bi-cycle). save money on gas, get a workout, and save the environment. :nice:

btw... where is all this money going? you know somebody is getting stinking rich off of this. the problem is... that person was probably already stinking rich to begin with. and now he's filthy stinking rich.

I would love to be able to bike to and from work, unfortunetly it's just not an option for me dispite my short commute because of the time involved. I have allready had to make arrangements with my boss to come in at 8:30 so I can get the kids off to school on time.
