Why is it legal?

I can see and understand why street racing discusion would not be allowed while O/R cats are, but I can't really come up with an explanation. The different penalties for different crimes post was a pretty good explanation. While I don't completely believe discussing it should be against the rules, I respect it because, well, they are the rules. I see it as that there are plenty more forums we could go to, but since I choose to post here, I have no problem following these rules.

For starters. Ranger04 posted his story, long before Darkfire posted his pictures, and second..He was just curious, and wanted to know why the topic of street racing. isn't permitted to be discussed on Stangnet.

Meanwhile, it's perfectly fine to discuss removing the factory cats, which btw: is not only illegal. but is also against the federal EPA emission regulations..

But yet, when it comes to racing at the track..it's completely acceptable, because both spectators, and drivers sign release forms. acknowledging the potential risks of getting either seriously injured, or killed..

However the point is..innocent bystanders, are still getting killed.. whether it's in a legal/controlled environment at the track, or in a street race..Just because somebody signs some stupid release form, doesn't justify an innocent bystander getting killed, over someone at a street race, that didn't sign a release form..

That being said, if we had all bothered to take the time, in answering Ranger04's questions..Perhaps none of this nit-picking back and forth, would have taken place to begin with

That's not true. At the track they are not innocent bystanders. They may be bystanders, but they are assuming the risk of injury by going to the track, thus no innocence.

In any event, I've removed the picture that has been found to be disturbing by a member. Let's keep this thread on topic before we have to close it.

At any rate, my point was..If everyone involved, would have just took the time in answering Ranger's questions..Perhaps this entire thread, wouldn't have got so blown out of proportion to begin with..

Anyhow, that's all I wanted to point out..

I guess the bottom line is, it's not allowed because it's not allowed. Those that make the rules decided it was in the best interests of the forums and it's sponsors, to not allow talk of street racing. As members of this board, we have to abide by those rules. If you wish to challenge a rule, you may do so in the feedback section located here:

I'm not saying I agree with every rule. But then again, I don't agree with every law. But to live in the US, I have to abide by them as best as possible. As a member of this board, I have to abide by the StangNet TOS as best as possible, too.

And finally, comparing the legality of street racing to the legality of removing catalytic converters? Seriously guys. That's like comparing the legality of setting fire to a mattress factory, and removing a mattress tag.

Chill out there killer. I meant I was amazed Darkfire was here to tell the story. As in I was amazed anyone could make it out alive. Don't know why you are getting so upset.

Also, to anyone else who may have misinterpreted my previous post, I was sharing my thoughts on the question of why certain things are or aren't allowed on here. I was not trying to be combative. Sorry for any confusion.

Chill out killer ? Wow. that's a new one...As I wasn't upset to begin with, but just rationalizing a point and nothing more..But in all honesty, I've never street raced, nor would I ever condone it..as I totally agree, it's wrong to put anyone in harms way..

Although. I'll open up my Stang on the interstate every now and then, but never in a race or competition setting..

Global warming, street racing and no cats should be the least of our worries. Sure they all will kill you but I am more concerned about where I will spend eternity when I do finally kick the bucket. Thank God I know the answer to that question.

Cars contribute a gnat's feeler to global warming. The planet is heating up. Experts are paid by governments who want to tax you. You need to get over this "cars cause global warming" idea because they don't.

The evidence for this is simple and straightforward.
If every car in the UK was taken off the road, China's increasing industrial output would negate it in minutes.
If cars were such a threat to the planet, they would be outlawed, not taxed.
Cows are responsible for massive gas output but they're not taxed either.

The green issue is a big red herring to tax you - once you fool the masses, you can roll in the money. Cars like the Prius are NOT green , they rely on charging from electricity provided by chugging great power stations gulping C02 into the atmosphere. Anyone who buys a Prius for green reasons is a moron.

If it was such a problem, the governemnts would be putting hydrogen fuel cell technology into fast forward and providing the support for fuelling with hydrogen so the only emssion would be water.

This is politics, nothing more and nothing less. Don't be sucked in by it.

I am not addressing question, but I like the fact that Stangnet does not have a "Kill section". These sections are notorious for overexxagerations and ego-inflation. Funny how there aren't any "Lost sections". After all, if someone won, someone must have lost.

Thank you all for such an honest debate on these issue's. We all know the dangers of street racing even though were guilty of doing it, I also wanted to bring attention to pulling our cats as it's illegal and can also be harmfull to those around us. In the future when the question is ask about an offroad pipe, lets give it some serious thought before we reply. We need to bring honor unto the mustang comunity.
