Im selling my car to buy a 90 LX hatch with a 347....the motor is a summit block, scat steel crank, forged pistons and rods, afr 185 heads, lunati cam, edelbrock performer II intake...etc etc.....and when the previous owner to this owner dynoed it, it only made 322 rwhp, and 352 rwtq at larocca's performance or a dynojet.....this is WITH a dyno tune and chip.....i dont understand why hes not making over 400hp to the wheels at least.....he is running kinda rich, and he was gettin a slight ping on 94 octane in the 100+ degree weather, so i said why dont u back down on the timing a little, so you can also back off on the fuel pressure a little, and he was like something isnt right here......

That does seem a little low, since most 302s with H/C/I get those kind of numbers as to why? Could be a number of things. Good Luck

it CAN be done, don't get me wrong, but the people in the magazine are (to some extent) matching things and getting rid of things. they prolly dropped all the accessories (a/c, egr, etc.) but also had a cam specifically for their heads with enough intake, etc........remember they do this for a living

PLUS you are essentially getting near the limits (power wise) of the stock block. if you ahve 400 rwhp thats probably about 500hp to the crank.....we usually say around here 500hp-550hp on a stock block

Cause it's afraid of my car ... I'm glad you post here now, this is where I always come. Anyways I've had great luck with Larocca's and interesting they would not have also thought something was up. In perspective my friends 302 afr165/rpm2/cam made 342rwhp with lower compression. #'s aren't everything but I would take it for a ride and if it feels real strong and you like it, I would buy it. Maybe a trip back to Larocca's and see if they can't share some of their knowledge about the motor (what it should run, maybe needs a different cam?, what's holding the horsepower back.. etc). Pick their brains a little and you will be surprised they might have an answer for you. It's all free advice that won't hurt ya!! How do you think my car is the beast that it is..

so we meet again...the whole gang is here again dude i was in the car with alex, another guy from the club ("mustang dave"=big man) and frank whose selling alex the car (he had the multicolored 94 vert with the stalker bumper) and this car was unbelivable......with 4 of us in the car, up a hill, at 1/2 throttle, it was faster than alex and my cars.....it was sweet.....i think that the thing wrong with the car is that its got 24 lb inj, which are too small for this applicaion, and they are maxing out......hes running too much fuel pressure therefore it is running REALLY rich........im sure laroccas could straighten out anything needed to make this car more of an animal that it already is.......btw man were gonna have a meet soon hit me or alex up on AIM.........
