I am sick as hell and being pregnant sucks because I can't take anything. Had to call into work sick, again. Went to my classroom to get things ready, came back home and realized my car sounded a lot louder than normal. Looked underneath and my muffler tip (?) had disconnected from the muffler!! why why why!!!

Is the "fix" as something simple as having someone just weld it back on?

Most tape will catch on fire.

If your tip has a clamp fit, have a friend reconnect it. Otherwise, a few mins with a welder could have it patched back up and reconnected. Just note that if you weld it on, you'll have a real time removing the tailpipes if you ever need to.

It' not a real big deal.

Thank you very much for your help. I would NEVER use tape : P I'm not that ghetto lol

I'll be praying that all it needs is a simple fix like you suggested although I can't imagine what other kind of fix it may need. The connection just got disconnected from what I saw when I crawled under.

It was probably just clamped on and the clamp loosened up. Should be a quick fix for your sig-other or a friend (we don't want you under a car in your present condition. :) ).

Yep, definately not under the car in present state, even if you don't have a friend to repair it good old Tuffy or Midas should not charge much...if it's a last resort....

ay ay ay lol I just crawled under to look at it : P

Good news (first in awhile!!) took it to Midas and sure enough the tail pipe just corroded or whatever off the muffler so they welded it back on for $30. I figure I would be paying at least $25. PHEW!!!!!

Now, on to the possible timing issue and upper radiator hose replacement.

Glad to hear about the cost.....some of those shops have received bad press...and it may be deserved...but anytime I have had minor issues such as yours they have taken care of it pretty cheap.............have you posted a pic of your car yet...? Be careful on the repairs mom to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I was hesitant on taking it to Midas as well because back home they are a bunch of rip offs who try to take advantage of people. I figured if they were going to charge me $40+ I would have said no thank you and gone somewhere else.

As for my own repairs : P I'm single, what else can I do? Sure I can take simple repairs to a shop but it would cheaper to do them on my own if I am able to. If I need to, I'll wear a mask so I don't inhale fumes.

Can you tell I'm way independent and stubborn? lol

Theres nothing wrong with being independent, lol. Just where gloves and a mask to keep that baby safe.

LOL Crap does this mean Sydney is going to be stubborn like me? oooooh that could be a bad thing.....

I'm so careful that when I change my cat's litter I wear a mask and scrub my hands a billion times even though she is 100% indoor cat and no chance for toxoplasma.

Waaay OT:

How's Y-town? I spent the first 23 years of my life there. :)

Congrats on the baby, My wife just delivered our first... and second, about 7 weeks ago. I'm not sure if this is your first or not, but they change your life far more than you think they will. I was blown away.
