hey, whats the biggest rim and tire combo i can put on my car? if i dump the quads and just run some strange shocks in back, and do NO frenderwell work/beating. thanks!

Yup, just in front. I'm running 245/50 DR's on my pony wheels, no fender rolling. I have coilovers in back, so I don't know if they'd hit quads. I do rub on the inside though, over bumps and stuff. If I could find a four lug spacer I doubt I'd have any trouble... I think it's too low in the rear anyway. I may need to just set the ride height higher.

Alot has to do with the tire size and how accurate the rated tire size is.

My rims are 8.5 wide, with a 265/35/18 tire i ran a 1/4 spacer and left the quads in place, no problems.

I switched to a 275/35/18 drag radial, and everything was a problem. For some reason they are extremly wide, like a full inch wider than my old tires.

Now, i needed to roll the fenders, remove the spacers, ditch the quad shocks, and adjust the tailpipes.

The spacers are just normal wheel spacers...a circular piece of metal with holes in it to go over the studs which sets your wheels out.

I got one of my spacers at a tire/wheel shop and another I got at pep boys...around $10-15 each if I remember correctly.

Now, I put 15x8's (supposed to be 15x8's, but kinda look like 15x9's to me  ) w/ 5.5 backspacing in the front of mine the other day and it rubbed on something, but I can't remember what it was at the moment.

my experience

iv found that the biggest back tires that u can but on the back is 255/60 15's that is with out doing anything to anything besides removeing the quad shocks. You can go 1 size bigger but they will scrub.Heres a pic of my can with the 255/60's.it fills the quarter panals all the way up,and they are on 15x8's with 5.5 inch backspaceing

You ask that like there is a difference...? What's your situation?
The spacer just goes over your existing bolts and you reuse your existing bolts. The spacer adapter bolts to your hub and then your wheel bolts to the adapter. IMO the adapter is better because you do not need to get longer studs or anything. My situation...I want to get 17x9 rims in the rear with 275s but I doubt they will fit since my 225s barely clear the pipes and I do not want to remove the quads

OK, I see what you meant now. No, it ain't gonna work without spacers, and I doubt you'll be able to find four lug adapter spacers, or regular spacers big enough to work. If you do, by all means let me know because I'm looking myself :D All I've seen are the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch spacers :notnice: I have found a place that makes them to order, but I don't know what they cost and haven't gotten around to emailing them yet. Here's the link if you're feeling more motivated than I am: http://www.wheeladapter.com/default.asp

BTW, you can get yourself some more room back there without removing the quads by turning them around.
