with a 16" rim you'll be hard pressed to find anything wider than a 245 or maybe a 255 section width, both of which should work ok depending on your wheel backspacing
I have a 69 Mach 1 that I am running 255/60/15's up front with 275/60/15's in the rear with polished torque thrust II's. I get very slight rubbing on hard lock to lock turns, but other than that, no problems.
