Hey I have centerline 15x7 wheels, with bf goodrich radial ta's
P225/60R15's all the way around..
I'm leaving the front alone, but I'd like to put the widest size on the back that I could..anyone know what it would be? Do I have to know my backspacing? I'd have to look it up...

so yea im running 225 now.. even to 245 thats a nice noticable difference huh... maybe even 255?

I'm pretty sure your stock b/s is 4.875in. I think Centerline 4 lugs come 5.0 and 5.5 b/s. I have 15x8.5 with 5.0 b/s Centerlines with 275/50/15 BFG DR on a 88 LX Hatch stock height. That's alot a tire for a 15x7. Just my 2 cents.
technically you should not go any bigger then 2 inchs on any given rim. By that i mean if the rim width is 7 inch's then a 9 inch wide tire is what you want. That being said on a 7 inch wide rim the recommended tire would be a 255.
The taller the tire, the wider you can do, because it will stretch. If the tires are too wide, they will have the "buldge"....where they hang over the lip a lot. If you go to a 65 series you may get one or two sizes wider.

oh another question, i'm going to be doing my shocks and struts, but im leaving the stock spring alone..at least i think its stock..i never touched it and i would say it wasn't touched before..shocks and struts are stock right now so.
after I do my struts, i guess it's a good idea to get an alignment huh?
i'm not getting anything crazy like a new caster/camber plate or nothing..just new struts...but i guess it will throw the alignment off correct?
how long does that usually take in the shop for them to do..is that something i can wait there for?
What series 255's are you going with? 255/50's probably would be hard to stretch onto 7's and if you go to 255/60's, it'll be 27" of tire (1.5" more than stock) and it will mess w/ your speedo and also will look goofy in my opinion (because the sidewall will be quite tall for a street tire on a Mustang).
Do what you want, but be sure what you're getting into. There's a good chance that 255's (especially 255/50's - if they even fit at all) would pull the edges of the tires up and you wouldn't even get a full footprint at suggested pressure.
If you want big tires, get some 15x9's and throw 275/50's on there, but you may have to remove the quad shock for that, and/or beat the inner fender, but there are plenty of threads out there for that if you choose that path.
Just trying to save you potential hassle. All of this is just my opinion. I'm not a tire expert, but most of the others here aren't either.:SNSign:
I have 255/60 R15 BFG Radial T/A's on my 15x8 Welds. I don't like the look on the 255/60, too tall in my opinion. I would look at something else. Go to tirerack.com and look up sizes and specs. They will tell you the range of rim sizes that will work with a particular size tire.
I recently decided that having 15" wheels pretty much sucks. BFG stopped making the Radial TA in 265/50, 245/50, and 275/50. There isn't much to chose from these days. I think I'm gonna get drag radials because there the only thing I can find in the size I want.
