wierd buzzing noise at 1800rpms

I have a 94 Cobra and when I'm accelerating everything is perfect, except when it gets to 1800rpms it makes this really annoying buzzing sound and seems like its coming from the engine. When it gets up to about 1900-2000 the buzzing noise stops. It sounds like two pieces of metal in the engine are rubbing up against each other at those particular rpms.

Any suggestions or opinions? Thanks.

Can you make it do this while stationary (just sitting and revving the motor)?

There is probably some sweet harmonics spot where something is singing at just that RPM, but tracking down such a bugger from a keyboard is very difficult.

If you can trace it down a little by listening while revving the motor with the hood up, perhaps it can be narrowed down a bit.

My two cents. Good luck.

I had something like that, it was an exhaust, i would do exactly what hissin said, see if oyu can do it while not moving, and slowly track it down.
