will 18" mach 1 wheels fit on a fox ?

Was thinking of putting these (would rather 17" but hard to find on ebay) or bullitt rims on my fox when I get ready to do the 5 lug conversion. Not sure if 18" will clear without any mods to the suspension or the fender lips. car is in sig.

Yeah you should be ok. I have seen them on a fox in MM&FF or 5.0 mag. Ill look for it and see if I can get it to ya. They really did look nice. Good luck.

Well...i'm not sure if it was '90 or '91 but somewhere in there Ford opened up the front inner fender wells to accomidate the 16'' Ponys better, and i've heard that without these particular fender wells or taking out the wells altogether, you can't fit 18s up front...and if your car is lowered you'll need a bumpsteer kit. As for the rear end, depending on the width of the rims, your quad shocks are going to have to go, maybe even your tail pipes if they're too wide, and i've heard fender lip rolling is MANDITORY with an '18 inch rim, and sometimes even some hammering of the inner fender well in the rear. Suffice to say they're not a simple bolt on unless they're only 7 inches wide and have rubber bands for tires.

I thought so, I know ai have seen them on there but my original post ask if you have to roll the fender or make other mods. Do they make the mach one rims in 17 or are they OEM 18"?

They're OEM 17, only the aftermarket versions are 18s.

i have an 88, lowered with 18" rims in the front/rear and no issues. it rubs under full lock like any other 9" rim will, but the lip doesnt need to be rolled.

245 front, 275 rears. the largest tire i believe you can run in the rear with tailpipes is a 255 maybe 265.

You guys are missing something I think. The wheel size isnt going tobe a major factor. A 14, 16, 17, 18 in rim is there, yeah. But the tire is what causes clearence issues. It is what makes the outter diameter of the set. Of course if you run a huge tire on a rim its gonna hit no matter the rim diameter. I have a 85gt lowered an inch. I run 17x8 front and 17x9 rear with a 255-40 tire and have no rubbing or problems. So If I went with an 18 in rim, and a shorter sidewall tire, I would till have no issues.

Its comes down to this: tire size, rim width, and wheel offset/backspacing. The fact that its a 17 ot 18 in wheel wont matter.

And like I said before, I have seen in a recent mag a pict of a fox with mach I wheels. So they will fit.

Or am I totally off base here? Later guys.

no that is the truth.

most people dont get larger rims and run big sidewalls though, so its not usually a problem.

Thats what my point was. if he gets the right tires, the 18s will not be a prob. I run a 8in on the front and 9in in the rear and dont ave any probs. I say go for it. Itll look awsome with machI wheels. Good Luck

I dont have that issue, but thanks for the great info. I will more than likely run a 17" in either a bullitt or mach one rim. Thanks again.

Man go with the Machs. Alot of people have bullits. Go with the Mach for sure... Good Luck.
