Will 24's work for my setup?

Right now my motor is completely stock with the exception of a 65 mm TB and an A trim blower pushing out 5 pounds of boost with the FMU.. and YES it is speed density. It runs absolutely wonderful now and i would say it is somewhere in the 13's considering i can walk all over an LT1...

Anyways.. I have a real bad intake gasket leak soo i dropped my car off at a buddys house..

he is putting a TFS track heat intake on, along with 24 pound injectors and a Holley AFPR and a 255 lph fuel pump

When i get them fuel components all on and going, i will Up my boost to 8 pounds.. I am deffinately positive my fuel system will be up to par with that...

Now my question is. later down the road, I will do thumper heads and a crower 15511 cam.., Will my injectors be strong enough to support that?? I do not want to convert to mass air unless there is a way i can still run my Greddy BOV vented to the atmosphere with absolutely no problems like now

what do you mean by that?? setting the fuel pressure?? I have a holley adjustible

well you cant just stick 24# injectors on there, you'll run crazy rich. are you converting to MAF or programming the EEC?

since he is sticking with speed density and not converting to mass air, should he have a chip custom made for his eec so that the injectors will flow right?

i heard 24's are a DIRECT swap on SD and 30's would be a big prlblem

I would do a mass air swap, it's well worth the money if you plan on doing all that to the engine. Then all you need to do to swap injectors is get a different mass air meter and call it a day. Why do all that with out swapping to mass air?? Sounds like you want run into trouble.

Swapping to MAF may eventually be something you'll want to do but it's not necessary at this point. Putting the 24's in will be fine and shouldn't give you any trouble. Unlike MAF there's nothing to calibrate when you swap injectors. SD looks to keep a constant AFR of around 14.7. With the larger injectors, it will eventually adjust and shorten the injector cycle so that the AFR is in limits. If you want a richer than stock AFR then you'll need to have the fuel tables adjusted. Other than that.... until you go to a cam that really messes with your Vac you should be fine.

Edit: You also have the option of running a vac or boost activated pump booster to tune if you don't have a handly location to get your fuel tables adjusted. Not as elagant as burning a chip but works jsut as well.

Ehhh, watch out running 8 psi on 24lb injectors. Dont try this without running an FMU. 24lb injectors are too small for running a blower (no FMU), need to step up to 30lb minimum. Of course youll need to do a mass air swap this way. You might be able to stick with speed density as long as you have an FMU and 19 lb injectors. If you are pretty set on speed density, you might want to look into a Cartech adjustable FMU.
