Will 275/40/17 tires fit my fox?

Will 275/40/17 tires on 02 bullit rims fit my fox without rubbing?

I'm buying some Bullit rims tomorrow with 275\40\17 tires out back from someone and i'm doing the 5 lug conversion. My question is will the tires rub the tail pipes or the quads at all? Also the rear axles will be ford aerostar axles and i wanted to know if the rears wheels will stick out on my fox. Any help will be appreciated.

yes u can run that size tire but u will either have to flip or remove the quads. u might rub the tails during hard cornering. i dont know about the axles sorry.

I'll assume aero star axles are stock fox length.

I run 275 35 18's and trust me, they use up every available inch.

Rolled fenders, removed quads, and had to adjust the exhaust a bit, for them to work.

But beware under hard cornering, they will rub. I'm thinking a panhard bar is in my future.

Will 255 wide fit well? if anything i can sell the 275's to my friend and get the 255's if they fit without rolling the lips. I'll flip the quads and adjust the tailpipes for the 255 if they will work that way.

Bladder, i see that you don't know if aero star axles will work. Are you using discs or drums?

If drums, you MUST use a stock lenght axle. If you are using Drums, just get the FMS 5 lug rear kit, $199 at summit racing, axles and drums included.

Everyones car is different, the 255's may rub on bumps without fender rolling. If they do, just roll the fenders.

Rolling fenders is free. I used a borrowed fender rolling tool from eastwood, but i still cracked the paint. So i could of just used an aluminum baseball bat wedged between the tire and fender and got the same results.

YES, the panhard will make a huge difference. I snapped a bracket on mine several weeks ago and had to go without it while the new bracket was shipped. My tires are now trashed. I had hammered the fender lips and had no trouble when the rod was in place. However, with the hammered fender lips and no panhard rod, it is not really safe to drive.

I did not have to remove my quad shocks, or flip them. I have better than .500" clearance on the inboard side. All of my clearance issues have been on the outboard side.

5lb sledge works great for the fenders

I asked around and people told me they had cobra r's that were 8 inch wide and had 275\40\17 out back with no problems.These rims are 17x8(they are ford originals)and my car has the bigger wheel wells too cause its a 92.
