I have 02 heads on a 96 block so I’m gonna say yes. I believe they are all pretty much the same, sohc to sohc I mean.

After reading the link posted above I would have to say the 97 heads would be a step backwards, they may fit ok but the 01 have pi heads, performance improved, go back and read the link and it should be clear.

Just wondering. Is the motor in question a V8 SOHC or a OHV V6? Other threads by this OP would indicate the motor in question is a V6.

OBTW; I agree it's a bad idea to perform this swap IF this is a V8. However the benefit is there IF this is a V6.

I just assumed v8 lol. If it’s a v6 I have no idea. V8 I’m pretty sure they are all the same. I was thinking just an 01 v8 block is the only thing he had with no heads just block... if you have the entire engine slam that bad boy in.

Sorry, yes it's a 3.8 v6. The reason I ask, the 97 fuel system has a return line, 01 does not. 97 motor is bad 01 is good. To get the 01 to work I would have to switch fuel rails...which means I need to switch heads, intake, cam sensor, pretty much whole top end.

I wish I could just drop the 01 in. But it just won't work as is. The 97 has a return fuel line, 01 does not. And wiring harness is different. The way I understand it is I have to make the 97 computer believe the motor is still a 97. So have to change wiring harness, fuel rail, to get fuel rail swapped would have to use the 97 heads. I believe will also have to swap intake and cam sensor (one is 3 wire the other a 2 wire) I'm wondering now if I would have to change the cam also....
