Will a Black Magic/Proform fan cool a H/C/I car?

I am getting my H/C/I combo ready and I have a new in the box proform electric fan that I am unsure if I should use. My cooling system is a stock water pump, 3 core modine radiator and possibly the Proform fan. My question is if the fan will cool adequately in NY summers with A/C?
If not are the SN-95 fans worthwhile. I don't want to get the Mark 8 fan because I am running 2 amps with the stereo and I know the Mark 8 uses a lot of juice. Should I go with the Proform I already have or get another electric fan?

IMO, you would be well served to check out the Ramcharger dual fan.

You can get it without the harness for $80, and wire one up yourself if you are comfortable with wiring...

I know 5spdGT has a Black Magic with a Griffin Radiator on his h/c/i 5.0 and it cools it fine, maybe he will chime in soon.

i had the pro-form fan, the black magic replica basically.

i put it on my car with gt40 heads, and a cobra intake. before the fan my car heated up slow, i put it on. the car heated up twice as fast and got to 30 degree's hotter then normal within 2 miles.

so i came home and removed it. it says on the box cools up to 250 hp, 220 hp with ac i believe. so thats basically a stock motor. i wasnt impressed.

ive got H/C/I and mine cools fine but the knob is all the way down on the coolest setting and I do have a new OEM design but not modine 3 row radiator 180 Tstat and it stays about 190 -195 range all the time ....on a cool day will go lower , probably wouldnt cut it with stock radiator though unless the car was stock .....

Another thing to consider...especially if this is a foxbody. Do you still run the A/C? From my experience, if your car doesn't have A/C, specifically no condenser in front of the radiator, you might be fine with it. Taking that condensor off opens up a lot of airflow to the radiator. If you still have the A/C, you probably want to look at another fan..

really good point right here , my friends track car has everything ripped off and one 14 inch cheap electric fan and it stays cold with a 180 Tstat even idling for 30 minutes at a time in line at the track .......

it is a foxbody and it does have a modine 3 core rad. and I might upgrade the water pump. The car does have a/c and I plan to use it during the summer. how good is the sn-95 fan a good choice or maybe the ramcharger?

Dan stop being a , rip that a/c out As you know (or don't know) I run the sn95 fan with a pep boys 3 core. It cools awesome. I paid $43 for the fan, you can find good deals for them used. I had a ramchargers on mine when I had the blower on it (all 3 weeks of that lol) and it fit good after some cutting and trimming. I would use the Ford fans. Get a bosch 75a relay and a good lighted switch and use at least 10G wire for the fan wires and main power wires on the relay.

Gotta keep it. I can't wait till you see my car this summer with an extra $6k in it.

i added a proform about a few weeks ago. the thing moves 2500+ cfm. if you dont use AC, you will be fine. I will be upgrading my stock rad. to a better one here shortly (most likely griffin or a BeCool). with that setup and a 180 t-stat, there should be no reason that it should heat up.

no, but maybe you should invest in a better rad. a Griffin/BeCool or fluidyne would work wonders on your car.

I have a Black Magic fan on my daily driven h/c/i car with a Griffin 31x19 radiator...I rarely have to use the fan (it is not needed on the highway at all). I have to use the fan if I sit in traffic for a while I'll hit the switch...the only problem I have with it is if the heat has already rose up around 220* or so the Black Magic Fan can't keep up and won't cool it back down at a stop. If I get up to speed (25mph or faster) the radiator will cool it down quickly...but other than that I drive the car everyday and haven't had a problem that would ever leave me stranded...
